Fire him, try him, jail him along with Obama and the Clintons. Gut The FBI and get a true leader in there to run the agency as it should be run. Get back to solving crime and perform all duties now performed by the CIA, TSA, ATF and the ridiculously named Homeland Security!

Streamline the internal and international intelligence gathering and crime solving by placing it under one roof. That way the existing empires will be one and will be talking to one another.

But there WAS privacy for the Clinton Foundation
from the even the FBI, because it was audited
by .... Comey’s brother.

Comey is actually right about this in a legal sense. The problem is that it is really a moot point.

If a "right to privacy" under the U.S. Constitution allows Planned Parenthood to slaughter unborn babies, then surely it allows me to tell a Federal judge -- or an FBI director -- to "F#%& OFF!" in response to a demand for information or my testimony.

Regardless of Comey: the statement is correct.

‘Absolute’ privacy infer two things

1) you have ‘absolute’ control of your environment (communications etc)

2) other people ‘absolutely’ consider your privacy equal to theirs.

Anybody with any training in electronics or communications knows that eventually any encryption can be solved.

And NO communication over any type of network; especially radio or even ‘beam’ communication is 100% ‘private’.

The only way to 100% insure a ‘private’ conversation today, is to meet in person under a ‘cone of silence’ LOL

its becoming obvious to me why the average phone battery only lasts a day. some so much crap from various agencies running ‘apps’ from cia, fbi, fsb, n koreans, mossad, mi5, chinese and God knows who else...is it any surprise?

no wonder companies are now going 64gb for phone and tablet memory...its to make sure you have space for all the snooping...

the worlds internet traffic would plummet if all these groups stopped sniffing around.

I’ve been watching the TV show “Hunted.” The premise is 2 people who have done nothing wrong go on the run with one hour head start. If they make it 28 days without being caught, they win $250,000. The Hunters are all former LEO’s, FBI, Naval Intelligence, etc.

The interesting part, and how it relates, is how quickly the Hunters were tracking cell phones, listening in on calls, getting access to deleted SMS text messages, getting ATM usage alerts, looking at traffic cameras, reading license plates. Perhaps the Hunted signed away heir rights so no warrants were needed, but, as portrayed they had immediate access to all these systems. The Hunted didn’t stand a chance.

In retrospect, I’m no longer convinced one can “drop off the grid.” You can certainly minimize your digital footprint, but I am not convinced you can do a digital vanish any longer.

“FBI Director James Comey warned Wednesday that Americans should not have expectations of “absolute privacy,””

Can we test that on you to be sure?

You've identified the problem, Comey. The question is whether you are part of the problem or the solution.

“Even our communications with our spouses, with our clergy members, with our attorneys are not absolutely private in America,” Comey added. “In appropriate circumstances, a judge can compel any one of us to testify in court about those very private communications.”

That's funny, because we have other laws that protect attorney/client and priest/parishioner privilege and a spouse can't be forced to testify against their spouse. Judge or no.

"Streamline the internal and international intelligence gathering and crime solving by placing it under one roof. That way the existing empires will be one and will be talking to one another."

Horrible idea, and a guarantee of eventual tyranny. IIRC, this whole mess started with the "cross-sharing" of data between groups. WAY too much potential power under one roof.

He’s swung the door WIDE open for Trump to begin winning Millenials to his side.

Online privacy is the A#1111111 issue to them (just below ditching their student loans).

I read Director Comey's remarks more as a warning. The words, "There is no such thing as absolute privacy in America," - should send chills through freedom lovers worldwide.

Once America caves - Liberty is doomed. Everywhere.

He’s right. No such thing as an absolute right to privacy. Never has been—never should be.
