Governor Sam Brownback, R-Kansas, has reportedly been offered a new job as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations Agencies for Food and Agriculture in Rome.

Kansas Public Radio reports Brownback is preparing to leave Kansas to take the job in Italy. KPR reports that it has talked to an anonymous source that calls the appointment a 'done deal.'

I agree. People of both parties hated him equally, yet somehow he won re-election. I’ve often wondered if he didn’t resort to Democrat-style election shenanigans to get himself back in office. I, for one, won’t be sorry to see him go.

This would upend the race to succeed Brownback next year, especially if the Lt Governor decides to run for the full term once he gets the top job.

I like Brownback, then he ran for president and he was awful. I did vote for him for governor and was pretty happy with his performance but I’m afraid he would turn into an open borders guy again if he got presidential aspirations.

Lawrence Kansas was a city on the circuit back in the days when I was a roadie for a rock and roll band.

Cool place, the fans brought .22 rifles and we would do target practice after the show.

Italy is cool too, nothing wrong with traveling.

With the way he’s being treated by RINO tax-raising scum in the legislature he’s probably eager to get out of there.

From time to time. Better than Wichita, but that's a pretty low bar.
