289k is YUGE
150k is needed to keep pace with population growth.
At this rate of 140k above what is needed, that brings 1.68 million back into the labor force in 1 year. That would be a 1%+ improvement on the labor force.
Currently we are at 62.7.
The highest ever was 67.3 in January 2000
Good comment, junkie. America doesn’t work unless the kids working at McDonalds can see a way up the ladder of success.
Excellent chart, mountain man.
The unemployment rate is a big fat lie. We know that. This metric is telling of real progress.
I hope Trump boots the Bureau of Labor into shape. Our national data should be 100 times more transparent and useful to us.
Currently it's being claimed that invasion has dropped 40%, since the Trump took office, that would equate 280,000 in a year.
IF we can continue this, and continue the job growth, we'll see aYUGE change in unemployment, labor force participation, food stamps and welfare.
As labor participation rises AND employment rises, supply of workers will shrink, naturally driving wages up, versus artificially by minimum wage laws.
We are just 4 months from the election. That's 20 months from the next election. In about 8 months, candidates will start their campaigns. If these employment numbers can continue, it will strengthen Republicans and weaken democrats. We'll see noticeable and irrefutable gains by campaign season.
We are so lucky we have Trump. None of the other candidates -- on either side -- really pushed for jobs, nor had the experience in the private sector.
