I don’t agree with him but it is irrevelant anyway. IoT, automation, robotics - these are things and trends that will continue. People will need to adapt or get out of the way.

Just because you can do something doesn’t mean it’s a good idea. Some of these cars have gotten so complicated, they develop problems the dealerships can’t fix.

What do you do with it then?

They’re way too complicated for the real (salt infused) world. As was the Space Shuttle.

You don't need a computer to regulate the alternator, flash the turn signals, auto-lock the doors, control the heater, dim the headlights or DRIVE THE FREAKIN CAR.

You do if you want to drive the weight down!

Older vehicles were FULL of wires and cabling and various connectors, from each control to the device being controlled.

With a computer and smart devices you get down to 3 standardized wires to each device: Power, Ground and an Information buss.

The same connecter can be used for all.

What is NOT 'needed' is the ability of the vehicle to COMMUNICATE with the web (or any other external device) wirelessly.

The police car behind you can read your plate with a camera system; but at least; at this point in time (AFAIK); can NOT send a LIMP HOME signal over an IR link to a photocell located in a taillight.

Everything has!

Remember when tv/radio repair shops were all over town?

You said you watch the videos of Biden? Search some more. There's one of him running his hands up and down a very youn girl's breast. And then tell me that isn't child abuse. I was in the military and attended hundreds of retirements, award ceremonies, and promotions. Let me tell you this: if a general officer or colonel who was meeting and greeting a family did what Biden is shown doing to wives and children, he would've been charged and prosecuted. Moreover, what David Seaman is saying is there is something very wrong here. This is yet another piece of evidence. He is an investigative journalist in doing one heck of a job that no one else has the courage to do.

He was talking about this stuff in the late 90s. He would talk about how the NSA was listening in on our phone calls during the Clinton administration and people would tell him to put on his tin foil hat. My, my, my how that tables have turned.

True. Also, discussions of a New World Order and the plans of a globalist cabal used to be (and still are) laughed at and mocked as "conspiracy" theory. That is, until Brexit and Donald Trump, and now the media labels "anti-globalists" as "fascists."

Here is where I come down on all of this: the Bible is true. Satanism is true. The Antichrist will come to power. The world will be under his tyrannical reign. The world will go to a single currency, government, and religion.

And today, we can see all of that coming together very rapidly.

That's weak. There's at least as much wiring harness in a car as ever, maybe more....and twice as many relays. The total wiring harness weight is insignificant (nothing) compared to the drivetrain, suspension and brakes.

Besides...all the necessary relays, switches and wiring are still in place, needlessly hooked to some inexplicable "module". Auto electrics used to be much more reliable, predictable and repairable. This is absolutely unnecessary overkill.

Now, in some cars, if you change your battery and don't "reprogram" the "control module"....the transmission can destroy itself in minutes. (well, that was a $4000 mistake)

Modern cars will be junk way sooner than their forebears.

Yes, but at least today's TVs and radios are, for the most part, reliable and inexpensive.

Fortunately Obama is gone and there is a new administration in DC. With every new administration policies and procedures change. I will not judge the Trump administration by Obama administration standards and yes, it takes time to fully operationalize a change in administrations and yes, I can practically guarantee that there will be radical progressives in power again someday. That is in the nature of a republican form of government.
There has always been “deep government” elements trying to subvert the policies of the elected government. A Founder and the third Vice President of the United States was tried for treason in 1807 (Aaron Burr).
The bottom line question for me is should our intelligence agencies have “Termination With Extreme Prejudice” abilities or shouldn’t they and who gets to decide.
I vote yes and I think that those decisions can be made ethically and judiciously by the president, DNI and CIA. I will not judge Trump by Obama standards nor hamper his ability to confront our enemies because Obama misused the tools that were at his disposal.
If North Korea has nuclear capabilities and long range ballistic missile delivery to reach the U.S. and there was away to take Kim Jong-un out in a car “accident,” I want that option to be on the table for THIS president.

Now that stupid cash for clunkers program takes on a whole new smell. It sure did a lot to clear the “uncontrollable” vehicles off the road.

I have three clunker 1 ton Chevy vans with various things wrong with them.

There are enough GOOD parts between them that I can create a running clunker again if I wish to do so.
