"Russian" hacking?........ It could have just as easily been the CIA
The CIA's Remote Devices Branch's UMBRAGE group collects and maintains a substantial library of attack techniques 'stolen' from malware produced in other states including the Russian Federation.
With UMBRAGE and related projects the CIA cannot only increase its total number of attack types but also misdirect attribution by leaving behind the "fingerprints" of the groups that the attack techniques were stolen from.

Русские идут Russkie idut! Русские идут Russkie idut!
OK, now I’m curious, who are the folks behind the site : Russian Insider?
But the Russians wiretapped Trump's phone, no wait, that was Obama.
But if the Russians were for Trump and Obama was against Trump, then who hacked the DNC?
Yeah, they were smart. But the problem is that the CIA used it against we the American people. It is meant to deceive US, not the enemy. They used it to try to help Hillary, in a domestic election.
That kind of smart is nothing to be proud of.
In all honesty, all this secret crap is the antithesis of America. Instead of being the solid honest sheriff in the western, we have turned into just another wormy scheming figure, hanging out in shadows and skulking in alleys.
Its un-American. It makes us just an American version of Europe. Its time to be the straight up honest nation. That will get us further than the back alley crap.
Clinton and Reno Fired Sessions.
William Steele Sessions (born May 27, 1930) is an American civil servant who served as a federal judge and fourth Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Sessions served as FBI director from 1987 to 1993, when he was dismissed by President Bill Clinton.
A criminal, that Angleton. The people of his era damaged this country in ways we are still paying for.
What gets me is the quick identification of the hackers and methods, but the lack of defensive measures in place to deflect attacks. Doesn’t add up. That made me suspect this was a US government ops of some sort.
The problem is, if we play by one set of rules, and the opo plays by another, and gets to define those rules, you lose every time. That’s true in Soccer, Skittles and Spycraft.
Of course, we can always go back to the days of TOPHAT and FEDORA, where the Sovs played the Agency, who played the Sovs, who played H, Edgar Hoover, who played the CIA, who played the Sovs......
DC was so much more fun in those days, and lunch at the McLean Family Restaurant, watching who was watching who watch whom was always the daytime best game in town. I once walked into the MFR with a old “transistor radio earpiece” in my ear just for the fun of it. At least 3 guys, including one busboy, went apeshit!
.... or he didn’t...
Only the Shadow knows.....
I read that directly on.the wikileaks page.
PING!!!
How many members of the MSM who were all so ready to peddle to ‘Trump colluded with the Russians’ false narrative are actually also agents work for the deep state to undermine the President?
Article and comments, #6, #11, #12, #22, #25
Would the previous administration have deliberately had the CIA finger the Russians so that they could claim foreign interference and national security while requesting FISA requests in order to be able to spy on anyone who opposed them?
Thanks, Trump_vs_Evil_Witch & VikingMom
It’s very simple, Obama had John Brennan hack Podesta and make it look like the Russians did it. Then under the cover of law spy on the Trump campaign and possibly take control of the states election apparatus. Brennan and Valerie Jarrett may very well end up in prison, which is why I suspect she sought shelter in the private residence of Obama where she guarded by Secret Service...
Hey they just wanted to kill a few dozen misguided people.
“The problem is, if we play by one set of rules, and the opo plays by another, and gets to define those rules, you lose every time. Thats true in Soccer, Skittles and Spycraft.”
No you don’t. Think of the street you live on. Imagine a guy like Chuck Norris lives on the block. He makes sure he is the strongest most well armed man on the block. He deals with everyone honestly. His morality is unquestioned.
He doesn’t make secret deals, and listen in on everyone else’s phone calls. The bad guys know there is swift and certain defeat if they violate him or his home. They know he won’t stand by and let an innocent person be abused.
Contrast this with your “man”. He is a sneak. If someone transgresses him, he might find someone to slash his tires at night on his behalf, or he might start gossiping to neighbors about him to undermine his marriage or job. Your “man” listens in on everyone else’s phone calls with high tech devices. After all, that way he knows what people are up to.
He’s really sneaky. But nobody respects him, not even the people he combines with. Soon, he is treated like someone nobody respects, because nobody does.
Spycraft is a game for Europeans and other pussies. It is the opposite of America, or being a man. That just a fact.
And now, after 6 decades of their intel world BS we have one assassinated president, and a police state where every domestic communication is swept up. We have an FBI steeped in the ethos of 5 decades of its infamous homosexual director. And now, that spycraft world has turned inward against legitimate political candidates. We have them switching sides in Libya and arming Al Qeida. Yes, THAT Al Qeida.
But they can’t stop 9/11, Major Hassan, the Shoe Bomber, the Boston Bombers, San Bernadino, the were blindsided by Saddam, by the fall of the Berlin wall, and by the collapse of the USSR. They are nearly universally wrong.
Men and nations are the same in matters of reputation and honor. There’s the Ben Cartwright and Lucas McCain. And there are the sneaks and pussies that they were up against.
Spycraft isn’t Ben and Lucas.
Any person of integrity would have been fired from the Clinton Administration
I’m sorry, but we live in a real, non-scriptwriter world.
There are people in the world who want to kills us. Kill you, kill me, kill Mrs DesertRhino, and all the Rhinoettes.
Those people are searching every day for new ways to kills us. Some have fissionable weapons. Others will have them soon, as Obama has given them permission to do so.
If any of us think we are still some time away from the Moslem Bomb, I would remind us that Pakistan already has at least 130 nuclear weapons and warheads.
Good intelligence prevents wars, and if a war begins, ends it quickly and favorably.
Two quick reminders. By no means was victory in WWII a sure thing. Two critical intelligence successes, the locating of Nazi heavy water aboard the SF Hydro and it’s sinking and the radio intercepts that lead to victory at Midway, were critical to victory.
In the absence of either, the war could have gone the other way.
I’d rather pay the price of liberty through good intel in dollars, and even in possibly some loss of liberty, than with dead American bodies.
No doubt about it, they would have a collection of electronic malware, viruses, trojans, keyboard loggers etc. that were originally authored by foreign persons/countries.
Then use them, and security experts & others outside the CIA think the original creators of the malware are the perps.
