WASHINGTON — The F.B.I. director, James B. Comey, asked the Justice Department this weekend to publicly reject President Trump’s assertion that President Barack Obama ordered the tapping of Mr. Trump’s phones, senior American officials said on Sunday. Mr. Comey has argued that the highly charged claim is false and must be corrected, they said, but the department has not released any such statement.
Mr. Comey made the request on Saturday after Mr. Trump leveled his allegation on Twitter. Mr. Comey has been working to get the Justice Department to knock down Mr. Trump’s claim because there is no evidence to support it and it insinuates that the F.B.I. broke the law, the officials said.
A spokesman for the F.B.I. declined to comment. Sarah Isgur Flores, the spokeswoman for the Justice Department, also declined to comment.

If so, then he knew that Comey would, at some time, be smoked out and commit himself to whom he has allegiance.
If this is true about Comey, then his allegiance is to the Clinton's and not to the United States and its citizens.

According to unnamed sources, the statement by Trump "needs to be corrected." Not withdrawn, corrected. (Comey may, or may not have even said it, but if he did, the existence of a "wiretap" is probably technically untrue, and should be corrected to "surveillance.")

Trump didn't say it was the FBI, and who says it would have been illegal if there allegedly was actual "probable cause" as some claim?

Maybe Comey is still there because he played the side of the street that helped Trump win. Maybe it will turn out that any wiretap was a private illegal tap and conducted by anyone ranging from the Dems. to the Russians.

I agree that Obama is complicit if it came from his people. It’s just that I’m not so sure it was wise to give the RATS an out early on by stating it was Obama that actually ordered it personally.
So rather than tying Obama to the tap by proxy after it is proven the tap was political, Trump has made whatever involvement Obama will ultimately be shown to have had spun in a less malevolent light by the press.
So this isn't new. It's just what Klein has always believed. He has no more reason to believe it now than he did in the book he published before Comey gave PIAPS a pass over the summer.
It’s hard to imagine that at 6:30 AM on a Saturday, Trump decided to post that tweet with nothing to back it up. It’s too explosive a statement without concrete proof.
