The White House on Sunday called for congressional investigations into its claims the Obama administration meddled in the 2016 election cycle in an attempt to gather information on then-Republican nominee Donald Trump.
“Reports concerning potentially politically motivated investigations immediately ahead of the 2016 election are very troubling,” White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said in the statement.

“President Donald J. Trump is requesting that as part of their investigation into Russian activity, the congressional intelligence committees exercise their oversight authority to determine whether executive branch investigative powers were abused in 2016.”
The statement follows an explosive allegation Saturday by Trump that former President Barack Obama ordered phones wiretapped at Trump Tower and also states that nobody in the administration “will comment further until such oversight is conducted.”

The wiretapping (legal or not) of Trump’s phone and computer servers and the possible bugging of his residence and office will require a separate investigation from which, at this time, Sessions has not recused himself.

Makes me wonder if President Trump knew about the wiretapping all along and was actually controlling both sides of the narrative. Keeping the left chasing wile hares while he ran successfully for office. And, that’s what they’re still doing.

I have read there may be Russian bank commercial ties with some of the hundreds of clients leasing commercial space in Trump Tower - including the Chinese.

Bongino was Secret Service during the Obama years so he knows a lot about this issue that I do not. We will see if his theory is borne out in public. Obviously President Trump just learned he was tapped in Trump Tower before the election and blames Obama, leaving us to guess what he just learned to trigger this very public accusation against a former president.
The thing is, the press knows this is true, since they were the ones who told us it was true in the first place.
What has changed is simply this: when they told us Trump was under investigation, they did so believing it hurt Trump. Now that they realize this may actually help him, and hurt them, bang! Down the memory hole it goes.

The only reason Trump's tactics are working is that Trump is popular.
That is not saying that Trump is misleading, it is a statement that the public is gullible and the press is powerful. The truth is the first casualty in the American "fake news" press.
