There is no crime to probe in the matter of the Trump campaign’s contact with Russians

So, Attorney General Jeff Sessions has recused himself. Great! Just one question: From what? Yes, yes, Sessions is a good and decent man. He is a scrupulous lawyer who cares about his reputation. Thus, in stark contrast to Obama administration attorneys general, he strictly applied — I’d say he hyper-applied — the ethical standard that calls on a lawyer to recuse himself from a matter in which his participation as counsel would create the mere appearance of impropriety. The standard is eminently sensible because the legitimacy of our judicial system depends not only on its actually being on the up and up but on its being perceived as such. If it looks like you’re conflicted, you step aside, period. Simple, right? Well . . .

It does not sound as if Session consulted Trump before deciding to recuse himself. He caved in to Democrat and media pressure and added fuel to this hyped up fire. He should have hung tough and rode this out - it's what Obama's AG Holder would have done, and while Sessions will not have the media cover Holder would have gotten, this episode does not reflect well on his mental toughness.

Just got this email:

In the Civil war of 1860 to 1865 it was the South fighting the North, this time it will be Trump Patriots fighting the obamites, the clintonites, the Republic haters.

So three percenters, and Patriots of the North and the South, it is time to bury the hatchet and rescue the Republic.

It is no longer just Donald’s fight.

If Sessions is afraid to take heat perhaps he should resign. Bring Rudy in!

tisk, tisk. It is an excellent article on how the dems are scheming and plotting.
I hate dislike NRO as much as the next guy but it doesn’t mean there can’t be good points made from a writer from that site from time to time.

The problem is this game of politics is a religion to the leftist, the statist, the socialist, marxist.
For someone like Sessions, he is a good man looking to do the honorable thing. He doesn’t look to do what is best for his party or himself.
This is one of the reasons the left can always get over on the people of integrity.
It is sooo frustrating watching someone like Sessions concede on something he had no reason to concede on!

Fox saying no probable cause for wiretap. It was for due diligence

I voted for toughness in standing up to the Democrats and the media, not an AG who gives in to their unreasonable demands at the cost of the president who appointed him.

I agree.

But is he enough of a pit-bull and a fighter to take the initiative and carry this battle to those who would destroy the President?

Waiting to defend each move by the democrats will be a losing tactic.

We've already seen that.

They mean to take over the government again one way or the other.

The Attorney General is going to have to take the initiative and attack them.

That means cleaning out every Obama appointee in the Justice department to start with and replacing them with people loyal to President Trump.

.

Let’s find out what their (lack of) rationale was. Trump should declassify and publish the June and October FISA requests, and let’s see which shopped-for judge approved it in October.

Think we’ll see adequate suspicion of crime or probable cause?

Sessions had better prove very quickly that he isn’t the standard run of the mill GOP retard with no balls.

To recuse himself without Trumps permission was extremely ill advised.

VERY SHORT WINDOW TO MAKE THE COMMUNIST PAY!!!!!!!!!!!.

Bring Rudy in

I'd rather they bring in an unknown that once confirmed proceeds to make Himmler look like an effete pussy.

Communists don't quit, don't accept election results, and are always trying to overthrow the government.

Once in power they are ruthless and steal everything that isn't nailed down.

The Pinochet model is how you stop communists.

There is no other way.

I can’t believe how many Freepers are dissing Sessions. Apparently you have not been watching this good man fight the good fight all the years he has been in the senate. He has courage and conviction. He will stand and fight. Everyone seems to think if one doesn’t choose to die on every hill, they are a coward. Sessions is no coward, he’s just smart. He’s not going to get in a pissing contest with the dems over every arrow sent his way. Trump would not have picked him if he didn’t fit in with the plan. Remember, underestimate Trump at your peril.

Not underestimating anybody.

It takes a special kind of man to crucify the enemy.

Being a Senator is one thing, being an executioner another.

We don’t have all day.

The GOP and Dems have expanded the surveillance state so much, it's allowable.

This is the best thing to happen in a while. Maybe we can start taking back power from .gov
