Yes, There Could Be Serious Legal Problems if Obama Admin Involved in Illegal Surveillance

President Trump recently tweeted claiming that former President Obama wiretapped him during his campaign. One can only imagine how nuts the media would have gone if the roles had been reversed: President Trump wiretapping either Obama or the Clintons, though his DOJ could have authority to do just that given the expansive leaks of intelligence information by Obama and Clinton supporters the last few months. Heck, he could wiretap the media at this point, legally and legitimately, as the sources of these unlawful leaks, for which Obama himself set precedent. Do liberals understand what Pandora’s Box Obama opened up by Obama using the powers of the NSA, CIA and FBI to spy on his political opponents? Even Nixon never did that.

If the stories are correct, Obama or his officials might even face prosecution. But, we are still early in all of this and there are a lot of rumors flying around so the key is if the stories are correct. We just don’t know at this time.

And Holder was even found in contempt of Congress.

You are so right.

At first I thought Jarett moving in was a consolidation of their power. So that she could better advise Obama on how to sabotage President Trump. Now I realize she’s afraid. They know what they’ve done and if everyone else knew it, she (and Obama) would be underneath the jail.

Now we know the real reason why they had to come out with the fake Russia did it story. But I have a feeling this is just the tip of the iceberg. I saw a story earlier today about Rahm Emanuel and the Treasury Dept. I’d take a close look at Fort Knox if I were the president. They had eight years to get into everything.

What we’ve heard about so far is the stuff that’s fairly easy to find. I’m certain they’ve done plenty more evil that is hidden out of sight. I’m just as certain that it will eventually become known because God is really the one bringing this out into the open and He sees it all.

You might think this odd, but I always imagined that the reason Obama did not close Guantanamo was because he knew that one day our nation might need a good place to house traitors where US citizens could not easily get to them.

It isn’t going to be found illegal. But Trumps doing a nice job turning this around on them. I hope they keep it up and neutralize Obama.

This is eventually going to lead to political arrests.

How would you feel if you found cameras and audio recordings of you in your bedroom over the investigation of a non-crime?

No wonder the man is pissed!

We are now entering a post-racial America. Being partially black will not save Obama.

If the FISA court approved it, as seems likely, it would be legal.

Not necessarily. If the FISA court was misled a crime has been committed. READ the ARTICLE!!

Those leaks to the press are illegal at the very least.

That’s why nobody could find the warrant until now. They claimed they searched and searched on Trump and nothing ever came up.

Here you go.

Thats this issue.....forget about the Russians. The sitting presidents administration requested a wiretap of the opposition candidate. Key question for me .....With the request, were adequate protections defined to firewall non essential / non russian related data? was an effort made to protect the privacy of the opposing party?

After the initial turn-down of the wide-range —weak— one, 0 got a narroower-focused one.

But went ahead and did the wider-range one, the —weak— one.

0’s in a bind... he didn’t have the OK for the wide-range one.

If 0 had his AG do it, they’re both in a jam...

We had a FISA warrant to surveil interactions with the Russkie bank. We turned on the tap, and it was so boring and meaningless, the agents went out and got drunk, and forgot to turn it off. Yeah. That’s the ticket. And there was so much hot stuff on there about the campaign, we’d have been fools to erase it without getting an earful.

Am I correct to say ‘whoa’ to the following? I thought Sessions replacement having recused himself would be a sniveling O appointee ... but this paragraph appears to say ‘not exactly so’ - that while it’s technically an O appointee - meaning he can’t be claimed to be a Trump shill, it’s one O removed because he feared him as Session’s backup ... but then Trump reinstated him.

” Democrats may regret Sessions’ recusal, as his replacement is a mini-Sessions: a long-respected, a-political, highly ethical prosecutor, Dana Boente, whose reputation is well-warranted from his service at the Tax Division, and who won’t be limited by any perceived ties to Trump, given his prior appointment by Obama. Obama himself appeared scared of Boente, as he removed Boente from the successor-to-Sessions position during the lame-duck part of Obama’s presidency, but Trump restored Boente to that role earlier this month. Democrats may get the investigation they wanted, but it may be their own that end up named in the indictment.””

You are correct !! What article is that quote from?

“Got it. And that is where, per this article, they may have really crossed over the line:

“Second, it is possible Obama’s team may have perjured themselves before the FISA court by withholding material information essential to the FISA court’s willingness to permit the government surveillance.”

As one FNC guest theorized, since the FISA court already turned down a request to wiretap Trump, yet a second attempt was successful, wouldn’t it be logical to assume that “something” was different in the 2nd request?

Something like, for example, omitting the name “Trump” and fuzzing it up to make the focus on “foreign entities” or something?

That’s what I’ll bet we find they did in order to get the order approved on the 2nd attempt. And leaving out material facts is a felony.”

Plus, what 0 and minions did was beyond the scope of the first permit; they went ahead and did what they wanted in the first one!

What really pisses me off about all this...WE Americans deserve better. This is all a bunch of ideological BS that serves the parties alone. We citizens pay taxes to support our nations security, infrastructure, trade and so forth. It's all waste. These people up in D.C. (dems and pubs) toss around $$millions$$ on this nonsense with NO regard to our labor that created it. Really chaps my hide.

Would it be possible for Jeff Sessions to retract his recusal, or reword it so that he will be able to prosecute this? Has this ever been done?
