Yes, There Could Be Serious Legal Problems if Obama Admin Involved in Illegal Surveillance

President Trump recently tweeted claiming that former President Obama wiretapped him during his campaign. One can only imagine how nuts the media would have gone if the roles had been reversed: President Trump wiretapping either Obama or the Clintons, though his DOJ could have authority to do just that given the expansive leaks of intelligence information by Obama and Clinton supporters the last few months. Heck, he could wiretap the media at this point, legally and legitimately, as the sources of these unlawful leaks, for which Obama himself set precedent. Do liberals understand what Pandora’s Box Obama opened up by Obama using the powers of the NSA, CIA and FBI to spy on his political opponents? Even Nixon never did that.

If the stories are correct, Obama or his officials might even face prosecution. But, we are still early in all of this and there are a lot of rumors flying around so the key is if the stories are correct. We just don’t know at this time.

Like to see Trump call in Rudy. He knows this stuff inside & out. He would be an excellent spokesman to flesh this out for the public.

Anyone going to press charges against the first black POTUS?

I think that shield's expiry date has since been long gone. It died around the beginning of November last.

I’m not gonna hold my breath hoping ANYONE will be found guilty.

Someone on other thread proposed calling this mess ObamaGate.

I responded by saying I liked TowerGate better.

Watergate wasn't named NixonGate. It was named after the building where the crimes took place, in this case, that would be Trump Tower.

I like sound of TowerGate better than ObamaGate.

Nixon was never impeached. He resigned.

Go back a bit... Upon an application made pursuant to section 1804 of this title, the judge shall enter an ex parte order as requested or as modified approving the electronic surveillance if he finds that—

Limited application. Go back to 1804 as directed. Do not collect $200.

Towergate is right, because it’s a reminder that this was done in Trump’s private building - his home.

No, because it implies the -gate was Trump’s doing, for the history books.

Dead on. And why do it, since Hillary was going to win hands-down?

By October they knew she was in trouble. They HAD to wiretap him to find dirt to throw against him for the campaign. The russian stuff didn't really ramp up UNTIL after the election.

.........I don’t care if all they can jail the sob for is jay walking! I just want to see him make the perp walk and spend at least “some” time behind bars! And, with Hillary, Holder, Podesta, Peolosi, Schumer and Reid trailing along right behind!

There is no way you can justify wiretapping all the staff of a presidential candidate that you have going on the record of strongly opposing.

Trump “tower”gate would be something dems would associate with Trump. Sticking Obama’s name next to the dems revered water”gate” would drive them nuts. It’s perfect.

I think DJT threw this grenade at FBI with the notice the bad eggs have the weekend to leave the country before Monday when Sessions’ indictments and the corollary arrest warrants begin when Jeff gets back to DC. Then see who runs.

Gate Schmate, this conspiracy is the crowning achievement of the most despicable series of administrations that constitute an unbroken chain of crimes against the citizens of this country. It makes the Watergate scandle look like a five finger discount at the five and dime.

It’s coming and it won’t be pretty so buckle up.
