The state of Arkansas plans to put to death eight inmates over a span of 10 days next month, a pace of executions unequaled in recent American history and brought about by a looming expiration date for a drug used by the state for lethal injections.
The eight men facing execution — four black and four white — are among 34 death row inmates in Arkansas, where capital punishment has been suspended since 2005 over legal challenges and difficulty in acquiring the drugs for lethal injections.
All eight men were convicted of murders that occurred between 1989 and 1999, and proponents of the death penalty and victims’ rights in the state have been frustrated that the cases have dragged on so long. (snip)
Brian Stull, a senior staff attorney with the American Civil Liberties Union, argued that something was more likely to go wrong with so many executions scheduled so close together.
“Each of these prisoners is a person with rights that have to be honored, and each execution is a process that needs to be planned and handled with care and close attention to detail,” he said. “And that’s just impossible for Arkansas on this schedule. Because they’re trying to do too much, too quickly, with too little preparation. It’s likely to lead to botched executions.”

He has been a strong advocate for the death sentence in Arkansas.
I have a hunch, though, that there will by a delay/stay in the executions, whether by the governor, or some legal technicality of some kind.
Eight executions in 10 days is going to trigger some real attention, that's for sure.

David Keen, TN 21 yrs ago, beat, raped, strangled with her own shoe laces, then wrapped her in a blanket, she was barely alive then, she drowned, Nikki was only a 8 yr old girl, TWO juries with DNA PROOF and his confession gave him that type of DP sentence. All state and federal appeals are done, TN RINO Anti-DP gov won’t execute the POS. 21 yrs later her mom is still awaiting Justice.

Even the state governments are looking for ways to cutback and save some money. Gotta do something with these boys. They’ve lived off the backs of the taxpayers long enough. Let’s do it!
Give them the same injections that the left is using to euthanize the elderly. They can die with a little dignity. They’ll just “go to sleep”.

The constitution prohibits cruel and unusual punishment. It does not guarantee a painless execution.
Every one of these men should be set free until the murdering mothers who kill untold millions of their own children every year are held to account and executed accordingly (if the state law executes for premeditated murder). If not, 40-life without the possibility of parole.
These most innocent human beings are brutally killed in a most heinous fashion and their body parts are often sold on the black market for big bucks.
Murder is murder.
Short of that no one should go to jail, much less be executed, for murder.
