(CNN)Former Utah governor and 2012 GOP presidential candidate Jon Huntsman is in discussions to be US ambassador to Russia, a senior administration official told CNN.
The source said Huntsman spoke with Secretary of State Rex Tillerson about it last week and discussions are progressing.
Another source close to Huntsman said he had been in touch with President Donald Trump's top advisers and possibly Trump himself.
Huntsman previously served as the US ambassador to Singapore and, later, China, under the presidency of Barack Obama.

Because Trump’s surrendered to the Neo-cons on Russia due to the CIA fake leaks about him being a Russian stooge. They won’t get the war they want, but there won’t be a US/Russian alliance either. Speaking personally, as long as there isn’t a war, what’s going on domestically is far more important.

Might be a move to remove McCain stooge Huntsman as a possible successor to Orrin Hatch in Utah. Hatch is up for reelection in 2018 and might retire instead. Last thing Trump needs is another John McCain butt boy in the Senate.

I’m not happy about it, but fighting back will result in a full on CIA coup using faked intel to impeach Trump. It still may result in it, but it’s best to put your enemies off their guard then it is to threaten war before you’re ready. Trump has to get full control the security forces(Mathis) and then build cases against all the treasonous dogs running the deep state(Sessions) before he can strike back.
