Please forgive a brief off topic rant. Has anyone else noticed that Panera’s now S**ks? They used to rapidly provide a good quantity of good food at a fair price. When they started I was very impressed by their operation which beat the carp out of the typical family restaurants like Friendly’s. My wife and I recently went into a Paneras and the first thing that changed was they now have “servers” which deliver the food to your table. They also ask if you want to tip them. I figured why not and added a $2 tip with my order. The prices for the Italian BMT and other items was also higher probably because they have gone all organic. After waiting an unusually long time the “server” put the order down and left. That’s all, and I never saw them again. Definitely not worth giving a tip. The food was also a disappointment. My Italian BMT was literally half the size it used to be with different bread and different components. I used to eat half at the place and eat the other half for lunch the next day. That wasnt really practical with the new version so I ate the whole thing. My wife ordered soup and a salad and they were also significantly downsized. Very disappointed and wont be going back.
One of the really big hassles of fast food in my opinion is just getting your order taken correctly. There is often a language barrier as most fast food workers have English as their second (or third) language). Also, they often give you the the feeling that you are hassling them when you have special request. For instance, I like my burgers plain with no condiments slathered all over them. A simple request but so often I ask for a plain burger and it still comes to me with that ketchup or whatever else they normally put on it.
I do see us eventually having fast food places that are entirely unmanned. You place your order and it is prepared and cooked for you on the spot with robots. Used to be the stuff of science fiction but I think we are getting close.
Is there a no-ice-in-the-drink option on a kiosk, I wonder?

Doesn’t bother me, they have the crappiest hamburger of all the fast food chains. Just as nasty as starbucks coffee.
Liberal snowflake: “Ha ha! You have to pay us $15 an hour, and you have to put up with our tantrums, lateness, and mood swings. Nanny government said so!”
Wendy’s: “Actually, no.”
Now if Wendy's would put a little seasoning in their hamburger meat, that would be great.
WOW - who would’ve seen this one coming?
Now to do the same with “medical care”...something that could be handled better and cheaper by machines.
That’s the best way to answer the $15.00 an our extortion plot.
Considering that a ‘robot’ kiosk can be built for less than $1000 this is a good trade-off for a $15 an hour employee
It is basically a computer with a touch screen.
I should go into business making these
