Fast-food restaurant chain Wendy’s will install self-order kiosks at 1,000 stores across the country by the end of 2017 to trim extra labor costs imposed by minimum wage hikes, NJ Advance Media reported. Wendy’s said it already offered to install kiosks in several locations last year and has received positive feedback from customers and franchisees who say they want more of the service.

Would probably get a more welcome reception from an automated kiosk than any of the Wendy’s I have been to here in VA.
That’s what happens when governments increase the minimum wage paid to clerks who, while not afraid of work, are still less productive because they can barely speak English.
I’m a severe introvert, so pay at the pump, self-checkouts, on-line banking/shopping and these devices are blessings.
I would say min wage hikes may have hastened the implementation, but these have been on the way for a long time. In PA and some surrounding states, a convenience mart called Sheetz has used these for their in-store deli. Millenials love them. I’ve seen them at other places. Min wage hike or not, these have been coming.
And more people are added to the unemployment roll and dependent on the State.

tried the kiosks, like the kiosk on many levels.
These devices have been widely used by Wawa convenience stores (northeast chain) for about 6 years.
They are primarily for sandwich orders. My kids have gotten to the point that they can order a fully customized hoagie in under 10 seconds. They workers always make it right.
They are in the process of adding the ability to submit and pay for orders with an app. Then you’ll just walk in, scan your phone receipt, and take your sub.

I would prefer to use a kiosk. I saw kiosks at several McDonalds off the interstates in Florida. One can customize the order and not worry about a person taking the order screwing up.

Will Wendy’s install hand sanitizer beside the Kiosks?
Works for me. I’m a self-serve kind of gal anyway.
