“he peered and squinted and finally handed the envelope to his Bonnie and Clyde co-star Faye Dunaway, who read the fateful words”
Way to go warren, shove the woman down on the grenade.
Dunaway announces, unintentionally incorrectly, that La La Land has won the award for Best Picture. The Academy, not wishing to look really, horribly silly, decides to leave it that way.
Outside of a few wonks at Price Waterhouse, who would know? What are the chances that they could have kept the lid on it long enough that, when the truth finally came out, very few people would actually have cared?
What about the Australian woman declared dead, but found to be alive?
The Moonlight pic was a black cast so it would have exploded in their faces even worse................
I was not in any of those millions you listed.
Haven’t watched this narcissist-fest for many, many years.
“You Had One Job!”
It was on in the other room, but still the best part I heard was when the OJ Documentary was being accepted the guy dedicated the movie to stopping police violence.
She was pre-posthumously nominated for an award.................
And the winner is La La Land, the cast starts heading up to the stage then they hear: “Never mind just joking!”
This would suggest that everybody already knows who the winners are- else why the puzzlement?
But then it’s leaked and the racist Hollyweirders, already reeling from its merit vs token preference, is bombarded by Rev Al, naacp, non-Hollyweird white libs as conspiratorial bigots . . and it starts all over again
#OscarSoWhiteyCorrupt
I’ve heard several news reports beating up on Warren Beatty, when it was Faye Runaway who actually made the announcement.
I have not heard any reports on Faye Runaway being blamed for any of this.
And now the Hispanics are whining #OscarsSoGringo
He was puzzled because he saw Emma Stone’s name.
He handed the card to Faye, probably expecting her to read it and be puzzled as well, but she mistakenly thought he was being a gentleman giving her the ‘honor’ of reading the winner, and all she saw was ‘La La Land’ so she went with that....................
Was he confused because he already knew the winner?
Couldn't happen to a worser bunch.
