New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie says Republican lawmakers should hold town halls even if that means confronting hundreds of angry progressive constituents.
Welcome to the real world of responsibility, Christie told CNNs Jake Tapper on State of the Union Sunday.
The governors comments come after a week in which massive crowds turned up at GOP town halls to protest President Donald Trump and Republicans efforts to repeal the Affordable Care Act.

Blowhard, faux tough guy. A real cringer.
Christie’s a log of things, but I dont think a faux tough guy.
He wouldn’t give a #### if there were 5000 protesters.
Very thick skinned and boned :)
Christie is all about Christie. Somehow that might have something to do with his being left at the altar by DJT.
That said, he is correct here, and I'll be among the first to say so.
.
Legislators should ignore the noise, head down and moving forward on the Trump movement's agenda. I have no regard for the butt-hurts and consider them to be unimportant and irrelevant. They had their turn, and they FU.
Their carping vitriol and constant whining make me sick.
Consider that he’s talking to CNN here, and he isn’t giving a single tip on how to deal effectively with the astroturfing disruptors at the town hall meetings. That tells me he has not confronted such people.
How is he correct?
If confronting astroturfers is one’s “job”, he isn’t explaining how to deal with them, and he’s only saying “let them yell themselves out”, which tells me he hasn’t gone in front of any.
What’s with the fawning over Bruce?
I like some of his songs but never paid a dollar to see him.
To Christie: Shut up, fat boy and eat your meat loaf.
I agree....also no signs brought into the room and stand in two lines behind microphones to wait your turn to ask one question each...no speeches. The congressman should not answer any questions while there are people shouting.
The rooms full of unruly protesters remind me of the worst sort of classrooms with teachers who have no control of their students. Why should we have any respect for a so-called leader who cannot even maintain order in a room.
When I read (fake news?) that one Senator said that he was glad that people cared enough to exercise their first amendment rights, I thought very poorly of his understanding of the first amendment.
“The answer to this is simple. Show a driver’s license proving residence before admission to the town hall. That one step alone would exclude nearly all of these paid protestors.”
That’s a really good idea.
How many of those “angry constituents” don’t vote in the district or even the state?
How many of those "angry constituents" don't vote legally in the district or even the state?
Question should be asked of both types, either way.
Christie is self serving punk. Did he mention the Rats in red districts avoiding town halls or the fact that the the town halls are filled with Rat ringers? No, he goes on CNN & says exactly what wanted him to say. He’s a back stabbing traitor.
No wonder Christie hasn't received any appointed position or even any notice from the President...and I hope it stays that way.
Even his granting an interview to CNN's Jake Crapper ticked me off right from the onset.

Do the reps have to let in illegals who are counted by the Census ss residents of their Dictricts?
that was his sales pitch in the primaries; governors have responsibility and have to work for a living in the real world, while congressmen make speeches and basically jack it for a living.
he has a point, but he contorted it completely out of perspective.
