Slate writer takes heat for Colmes obit

Slate magazine’s obituary for longtime Fox News political commentator Alan Colmes is catching considerable backlash on social media.

“Alan Colmes, Buffoon and Patsy, Was Fox News’ Original Liberal Weakling,” wrote Slate’s Isaac Chotiner, a senior staff writer and former editor of The New Republic.

Colmes died this week at the age of 66 due to lymphoma.

“Colmes was the most absurd, useless, and mocked television personality in America for many years, precisely because he was nice. In the context of Fox News, being a nice guy — and a ‘liberal’ nice guy at that — meant being a buffoon, and a patsy. Colmes not only played the part to perfection — he defined it,” Chotiner wrote.. . .

That wasn't an obituary. It was a tasteless, cowardly attack on somebody who could not respond. It's telling that the author never had the cujones to say that when Alan Colmes was alive and kicking.

Funny thing is that Combs is the only liberal besides Kirsten Powers (the most attractive liberal pundent ever)to make me pause and really take a look at the liberal view. Not enough to change my view but at least I didn’t feel he was evil.
He was the rare liberal with a sense of humor and I really miss the Hannity and Combs show. RIP Allen.

Voicing the exact same Leftist opinions and regurgitating the exact same Leftist talking points, Alan Colmes would have been a celebrated hero of the Left had he hosted his own show on a Leftist echo chamber network like MSNBC. What made him appear a supposed 'Patsy' and 'Buffoon' was exactly what makes all Leftists look as delusional and idiotic as the delusion and idiocy they promote when such promotion is allowed ro be contrasted against truth and reality.

Alan Colmes chose to appear on a network where he could not try to silence the opposition, hide or omit the truth, deny reality, or rely on name calling alone to 'win' an argument. It is for this reason: psychological projection, that the Left, delusional and idiotic all; call Alan Colmes a supposed 'Patsy' and 'Buffoon'.
