GOP Sen. Lisa Murkowski to Vote ‘No’ on Obamacare Repeal, Defunding Planned Parenthood

Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) says she will not vote with fellow Republicans for an Obamacare repeal bill that defunds Planned Parenthood. “The Affordable Care Act has failed in so many ways, but there are elements within it that deserve to be saved,” Murkowski said, according to CBS affiliate KTVA.

As she addressed the Alaska state legislature Wednesday, the Republican senator said Obamacare has allowed for the expansion of Medicaid and the opportunity for more than 27,000 Alaskan citizens to obtain health insurance coverage.

Additionally, Murkowski said the provisions for pre-existing conditions, coverage for adult children up to the age of 26, and mental health coverage are all positive aspects of Obamacare.

“As long as Alaska wants to keep the expansion it should have the option,” Murkowski said. “I will not vote to repeal it.”

Murkowski also says she supports Planned Parenthood.

“Taxpayer dollars should never be used to pay for abortions, but I will not vote to deny Alaskans access to the health services that Planned Parenthood provides,” she said.

...there are elements within it that deserve to be saved,”...

So, include those elements (if indeed there are any, which remains to be proven) in any replacement program. And as for PP, there is no excuse for continuing to fund the baby killers.

Conservatives in both parties...

Any candidate with a hint of conservatism has long since been purged from the DemocRAT party.

“If pressed she would not be able to name ...” what she would change.
********
Politicians like that need to be pressed on this — repeatedly — so they won’t be able to straddle the fence.

I voted against her the last two times and I’ll continue to vote against her. If you’re going to vote like a Democrat at least become a Democrat.

My recollection is that there was a great deal of bullsh*t going on in that particular race.

The 'rat vote won it for her. Once it was clear that the conservative GOP nominee was going to trounce the 'rat candidate, all the leftist 'rat voters switched to Murkowski as the write-in, knowing that she was a DIABLO (Democrat In All But Label Only). Her middle finger to her own party made it clear to the 'rats that they could trust her.

If they can’t vote right, take away their statehood.

It’s the “A” states that are the problem.

Alaska gave us Murkowski.

Arizona keeps giving us McCain.

And lest we forget, Arkansas gave us the clintons.

Watch Alabama for future developments...

Arkansas and Alabama have given us Cotton and Sessions....so, lets leave those two out ;-)

AZ and AK need to get their acts together.

It’s apparent that Murkowski is pissed about being defeated in the primary back on ‘08. She took a sudden leftward turn..

My question is “why is she still in the senate”?

Primary this witch! Alaska needs Sarah Palin in the senate.

She was primaried, beaten by Joe Miller, but she ran a write-in campaign and won the general election.
