Lawyers who worked with former President Barack Obama have formed a nonprofit called United to Protect Democracy, which aims at filing lawsuits against President Donald Trump's administration.
The group plans to investigate Trump, give information to the press to build the pressure for Congressional investigations, and eventually file lawsuits, Politico reported on Thursday.
The leader of the group and former associate White House counsel Ian Bassin warned that democracies don't end quickly. He said they often "decline over a period of years that happen through a series of much smaller steps," in an apparent suggestion that the Trump administration would contribute to that decline.

Trump’s people need to do some opposition research on Obama,
if they haven’t already started. Time to start chopping away at his ‘tree of credibility’ in the same manner as Obama hopes to ruin Trump. This is ridiculous and dangerous.
THIS is the type of story I wish O’Keefe would uncover.
I appreciate the work his group does, but we already know that most the media is biased hard left.
I’d like to see a network of conservative, retired lawyers form and take on these clowns pro-bono at every turn.
They figured it worked on Sarah.
Begs the question, “What is civil disagreement, and what is downright criminal behavior?”
OMG...they are so determined to bring him down once and for all. I have never witnessed so much anger and hate in my lifetime as I am seeing now.
Hasn’t that ass hat figured out, he wore out his welcome long ago and the American people (those who really are patriotic American’s) could care less about him and his benefactor George Soros. Both of them need to be arrested for obstructionist.
Evidently not, and I agree with your take on it.
” He who rolls a stone ma have it roll back upon him “
Someone has very deep pockets
want to bet they’ll be working Obama appointed Judges
Thanks. Good point.
I agree. And they most certainly regret that they failed to disarm us.
OH MY GOSH...Barky, the pedo man is crying again...so he holes up his lawyer butt buddies to take out our President...
WE didn’t like you when you were President, but we had respect for the Office you cheated yourself into, but now you have no office and you have not earned any respect from the American People, so my advise to you Barky, the pedo man is you best get out of Dodge by Sundown!!!
1st hang all the lawyers.
I say bankrupt Soros and Obama with expensive legal proceedings. President Trump can print all the fiat money he wants, besides he is a billionaire himself.
HaHaHaHa! Brilliant move!
Money down the drain.
FU Very Much Obama and all your stinking lawyers!
Maybe we should kill deadbeat farmers paid by the govt. to not grow crops.
Paying farmers not to grow crops was a substitute for agricultural price support programs designed to ensure that farmers could always sell their crops for enough to support themselves.
The price support program meant that farmers had to incur the expense of plowing their fields, fertilizing, irrigating, spraying, and harvesting them, and then selling their crops to the government, which stored them in silos until they either rotted or were consumed by rodents. It was much cheaper just to pay farmers not to grow the crops in the first place.
Of course, paying people not to do work is bound to be politically awkward (think of the old New Yorker cartoon of an accordion player on a subway platform with a sign next to his cup that read, Will not play Lady of Spain, 25 cents).
Dick:
The first thing we do, let’s kill all the lawyers.
Cade:
Nay, that I mean to do.
Henry The Sixth, Part 2 Act 4, scene 2, 7178
Dick the butcher, a character no one remembers, utters one of the few memorable lines from the entire three-part Henry the Sixth cycle. Dick’s Utopian idea to kill all England’s lawyers is his addition to the promises of the traitorous Jack Cade, who envisions a quasi-communistic social revolution, with himself installed as autocrat. Cade alleges that all lawyers do is shuffle parchments back and forth in a systematic attempt to ruin the common people. His demagoguery is simply a calculated appeal to simple folks’ longing to be left alone. Yet one may recognize Cade’s moral failings and still sympathize with Dick.
Shakespeare meant it as a compliment to attorneys and judges who instill justice in society.
You’ve been here almost as long as me, Dean, and we’ve reviewed this 500 year old yokel calumny countless times here on FR.
SOme of us predicted that soon after Trump took the office, the Left would start with
Unrestricted Law-fare.
Just as happened with Sara Palin and other that dare oppose the left.
Brave New World indeed.

Lawfare. Conspiracy.
