First heard of Colmes from a radio show that was billed as the “liberal Rush Limbaugh” way back when Limbaughs show first hit the scene. But I didnt see what he looked like til he got paired with Hanity. I hope he made peace with God beforehe passed.

Back in the late 80’s The G Gordon Liddy show started every morning at 10:00 am followed by the Rush Limbaugh Show and after that The Alan Colmes show. I listened to all three at my office nearly every day.

Alan Colmes was one of the few liberal pundits I could watch. He made strong informed points for his positions, but were easily refuted. The fact that he did such with smile was always a refreshing change from the grim look of most on the left. He seemed like a nice guy, even if wrong-headed. RIP.

Since we all die, it's unfortunate that a seemingly decent man should go before Maxine Waters and her radical ilk.

Right after 9/11 I had some brief e-mail correspondence with Alan. Never agreed with his politics but he seemed like a decent and charitable individual. I complimented him on (usually) making his arguments from a logical perspective (even if I thought he was wrong) and his being careful not to generalize and paint all conservatives with a broad brush. So, RIP to a worthy political opponent.

I get the impression that at any given time, there are thousands of Wikipedia editors with their fingers ready to hit enter at the instant there is news of a notable person’s death. I have not once been able to beat them to the punch.

I remember back on the old Hannity & Colmes show, Alan always seemed to play the role of Sean's punching bag, and he took it rather well.

It's like he knew Sean was the better speaker, and it was Fox afterall. He was there just for amusement.
