NEW YORK (AP) - McDonald's is hoping $1 sodas can help draw more customers into its stores in the U.S. as it fights to reverse four years of declining visits.

It ain’t the prices, it’s the bad attitude of the mostly shiftless help.
They’ve introduced a bigger Big Mac, just stopped in to the local McD’s out of necessity a few days ago and ordered it. Not really all that bad, patties are closer to Quarter Pounder size. They went overboard with the “special sauce” (which I’ve always thought was just Thousand Island salad dressing). Large combo with fries was seven and change. Forget what they called it, Grande Big Mac? Don’t know, but the regular Big Mac was still on the menu.
Unsweet tea is a crime against the South
Instant Tea is a mortal sin
:-)
I’d go for 70s McDonald’s.
For some odd reason, Chick-Fil-A seems to be doing fine...
“I dont order ice cream there anymore because its just junk.”
Heck - it’s not even ice cream. Notice they call it “iced dessert” or some such, because they can’t legally call it “ice cream” as it has no dairy in it. No wonder it tastes like junk.
Don’t forget the issues with your Stomach!
I live in TN, and ours don’t let you CCW, so they don’t get my business.
Of course most of the places that are taking their customers have beer, and better burgers. Cheap soda ain’t competing against that.
Well, I believe Chick-Fil-A has a relatively simple menu. Simplicity of menu plus emphasis of ingredients on that simplified menu is why In-N-Out is such a huge success.
Some McDonalds are good some are way past bad, it just depends on where you’re (at). Use to love the big Mac.. Two all beef patties special sauce lettuce cheese pickles onions on a sesame seed bun.I think . Had to say it at the counter with coupon. That was back in the 70s though, they don’t taste good like then.
They ought to work on their fries: not too good in my thinking.
To me Chick-Fil-A also has bad fries.
McDonalds will be bankrupt in ten years.
The libs have been trying for years. The Democratic nanny party will be so happy if that happens.
I recall this ad 1972 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ErlAEWG7xE0 “Feed a family of four for under $4.00.”
We used to go the fast food (read “cheap”)route when we went to town. Now the two of us go to a restaurant...comes in very near the same price, food is delivered to the table, and the waiters/waitresses are not surly. Worth a few extra bucks.
McD did it to themselves. They failed to adjust to the market. We’ve under gone a dietary revolution in this country, and it started hitting quick service 10 years ago. People are no longer willing to eat crappy food in an unpleasant atmosphere while being treated like machines just because it’s quick. They went from having one of the best burgers in the quick service sector to one of the worst without changing the recipe. They can no longer compete in a market that has Smash, and Five Guys, and Culvers, and Freddies. Then you add Pei Wei and Sauce and Rubios etc etc for the non-burger quick market and they just don’t have a chance. There’s too much drastically better food in the market for a slightly higher price and a slightly higher wait in a drastically more comfortable environment. They need to reboot the business from scratch.
Wouldn’t it be easier to just serve hot food instead?
I simply can’t eat it. It tears me up after I do so. If I have to eat fast I eat at some of the places you mentioned.
