In San Francisco, an Indian software engineer on a work permit canceled plans to bid on a $900,000 home. In Washington, a Brazilian nonprofit executive passed on a fixer-upper near her office. And, in Mesa, Arizona, a 24-year-old son of undocumented Mexican immigrants won the trust of a bank -- a green light for a mortgage -- but now fears deportation.

Are they claiming that employed American citizens don’t buy houses?

Rents are sooo high its hard to get your 19-20 somethings out of the nest. If we get them out rents at least should go down

I taught RE law, econ, and finance in college for 10 years. I have been talking about this. Supply and demand, baby. Maybe some Millenials will be able to afford rent as rents also go down. They will be able to move from their parents’ basement.

This has been a potential problem which has bothered me for some time. A drop in demand will slow down home price increases.

It was illegals buying homes that destroyed housing prices in 2008.

Here we go again. Pure bull sh#t.

Don’t believe the Lying Leftist Media. They are presumed to be lying and we should assume that what they publish is a lie. The presumption can only be rebutted with the outlet providing clear and convincing evidence they are not lying.

Can we limit posting this b/s? Some have said if they didn’t know any better they would think FR was a Leftist site what with all the pro-Lying Left headlines steaming across.

I understand that some posts of certain published lies can help in ferreting out the truth and can be very helpful. But much of the stream of almost endless Leftist media’s published lies posted on FR often has no redeeming value, gets people pissed off and possibly demoralized, and seems sometimes to even strengthen the lie.

We should be mostly publishing the truth on FR, not the lies, and as much good news as possible to bolster morale. We should find reliable sources that have already deconstructed the lie and replaced it with the truth and with a headline that says the truth. We need much more of that on FR IMO. The key is the headline and the first few sentences because not everyone has time to drill down. The endless stream of negative, lying headlines sabotages our purpose IMO.

This isn’t aimed particularity at you artichokegrower but to FReepers in general.

As usual no differentiation between illegal immigration and legal immigration. I would bet the person from India mentioned in the article is here legally.
