The National Weather Service in Reno, Nevada is warning of an "imminent" dam break about 85 miles northeast of the Reno-Lake Tahoe area.
The NWS is urging people to evacuate immediately.

The area was already dealing with a Winter Storm Warni

I still can’t figure out where All this Snow and Rain came from, we have had Out Of Control Global Warm9ing for 25 years now, Algore said it was impossible,Leonardo DiCaprio backed him up, (He’s a Big Hollywood Star and the Smartest Guy in the World, just ask him)
Not sure about dealing with the weather in Texas, but too much in this state degrades everyday life. Overtaxed resources, aging water storage system, poor roads, high taxes (even for retirees with pensions, 401(k)/IRAs, etc.), high cost of living, a voting base willing to pass any tax increase/bond measure, DEM super-majorities, etc.
As a Daytonian, I’m looking for this damn dam that is reportedly near breaking.
Still dry at this time....
Wasn’t there supposed to be a new generation of children now who will never know what snow looks like? Never build a snowman? Never participate in a snowball fight? I was told snow would be a myth to them by now. Just an ancient memory for us old folks.
Mother Nature appears to have gotten tired of the nonsense that climate isn't variable and that man can control the climate. She's giving a big, fat middle finger to California this winter. Not that the drought will be called off. There are water price increases being discussed *TODAY* for the Santa Clara valley, retroactive to the beginning of 2017 (if they had their way, they would make it retroactive to 1980. /s).
Because their programming alerts are for DAYTON, and can’t tell the difference between Dayton, OHIO and Dayton, NEVADA.
Yeah.

Thanks Bob,
Good song.
D
why are all these dams suddenly on the verge of collapse now that Trump took office?
I am starting to think people want him to put money into things people don’t see like dams instead of the inner cities.
Notice that the more corrupt the state, the worse the infrastructure.
HMMMMMMMM
Didn’t the Obama trillion dollar infrastructure money go to fix this?
Big retention pond. Not like CA
It’s a retention pond, not a dam. A friend lives in the targeted area. Right now, all is okay meaning it’s overflowing but not breaking. Sheriff’s Dept on scene thinks all will be okay.
We’ve just had so much water in the past six weeks the ground can’t absorb anymore. My road out front is a river right now, standing water in the barn yard and back pasture.
Just build an arc.
I do not know. Found this.
No, I remember it. I just assumed it meant shoveling off the scaffolding anytime Obama was previously on it.
