Warner Brothers is currently trying its best to convince Mel Gibson to direct the sequel to its 2016 comic book blockbuster, Suicide Squad.
The studio that is courting Gibson for a big-budget franchise film seems to confirm what should have already been known: Gibson is back.
After years of Hollywoods rejection and industry hate, Gibson clawed his way back to the A-list by continuing to work and finance his projects outside of the Hollywood system. His latest project, the faith-based Hacksaw Ridge, has made big waves at the box office and at various awards ceremonies since its release in November.

What does it profit a man to gain the whole world, if he loses his soul?
Everyone in Hollywood is a whore, at some level.
Gibson’s movies are popular, get a lot of eyeballs, and make a ton of $$$. So the whores of Hollywood love him again.
I would hope Gibson wouldn’t waste his talent on a comic book movie.
WB/DC are incredibly tough to work with, they’ve had multiple directors quit pretty much every movie in their pipeline. So now they’re going for guys that can’t afford to quit.

He makes money and they know it.
They make money no matter who’s directing and they know it. But having directors quit all the time slows down production. Marvel already perfected this, most Marvel movies are directed by indie guys as their “big break”, that often breaks their soul.
I’m still waiting on a “Lapanto” movie from Mel..only he could do it.
I don’t keep up with show business. How is Gibson doing? The ugly arrest demonstrated that he is a mean drunk. And the ugly divorce suggested that the boozing was part of a general collapse. He was in a pretty deep hole. If he’s gotten himself straightened out, he deserves a second chance. Not because he’s a celebrity, but because we believe in repentance and redemption. Gibson wouldn’t be the first drunk who got sober. And he won’t be the last.
This article leaves out a lot. There was a time Hollywood was against him, because he resisted them. Now that he doesn’t do that anymore, why would they still shut him out?

...
He should continue what he’s currently doing. Stay as independent from the Hollywood weirdos as possible.
1. The first is movies I make it a point to see, like Hacksaw Ridge.
2. The second is the least worst showing. This category is when my wife has lunch with people she retired with.
Hacksaw Ridge, and John Wick were movies I made it a point to see.
Suicide squad was on my least worst list. It had Will Smith in it, and he is on my list of try my best not to watch.
If Mel Gibson does a sequal to Suicide Squad, I might watch it. If Will Smith is in it, it goes on my least worst list.
Another day, I went to the Secret Life of Pets. There were a couple of funny things in it, but still, I left after a half hour.
Mel should resist any effort to put him in comic book action movies. His stuff is significant, well done, and doesn’t need costumes to sell.
Apparently William Wallace is, in fact, dead.
Their bottom line is bottoming.
Look for a sudden reboot of Bible-based movies.
Ten Commandments, King of Kings, etc.
They REALLY should consider a do-over for Noah.
The last attempt was so bad it was silly.
Did anyone see Suicide Squad? Was it good? Was it “family” friendly?
If your family has appeared on Jerry Springer a couple times, it’s family friendly.
Just saw HACKSAW RIDGE on iTunes.
Holy WOW - what a Gibson masterpiece.
Left me teary-eyed and breathless.
The scene where he is saying “God, give me just one more” has you crying in mid movie.
