All politics is ultimately personal. When Trump stated that he did not consider McCain a hero, he was validating the quiet criticisms that many had voiced about his military career and his behavior however difficult while a POW. This was a stake driven into the heart of McCain’s hero narrative. McCain will never forgive Trump and when the opportunity comes to do Trump real harm, McCain will seize it.

Who is he? He's a guy whose finest moment was when he was shot down by the North Vietnamese and whose life has been a downward spiral ever since.

Senators and Congressmen cannot be recalled. As long as Arizona keeps voting for him, he will be their Senator.
Also true of their other useless Senator, Jeff Flake, who is also an amnesty supporter.
