When Noah Wall was born, the doctors said he probably wouldnt survive and if he did, he would be severely physically and developmentally disabled. Born with only 2 percent of his brain to a family in Cumbria, England, Noah had no hope at least according to the doctors.
In utero, Noah had developed a rare complication of spina bifida where his skull filled with fluid, crushing his brain down into a “thin sliver of tissue,” according to the UK’s Mirror. His parents Shelly and Rob were advised to abort him on five occasions. They refused. After Noah’s birth, an open wound in his back was closed and a shunt was installed to drain the fluid from his brain.
Shelly and Rob picked out a baby coffin for Noah, but they also never stopped believing he was anything less than a great gift. They took him home and the entire family surrounded him constantly with love, affection, and 24-7 care. Noahs brain began to grow. And grow. And grow some more.
When he was 3, a brain scan showed that his brain had expanded to 80% of a normal brain. Now a movie on Britains Channel 5 called The Boy Who Grew A Brain documents just how far Noah has come.
The family continues to keep Noahs brain stimulated to aid his neurological growth. Dr. Claire Nicholson of Newcastles Great North Childrens Hospital in England — Noah’s neurosurgeon — calls him a remarkable child with two remarkable parents.
Noah, whos always smiling and shows empathy and love in his words and deeds, is learning to read and write, can count, and attends school. His brain continues to develop beyond anyones wildest dreams and after some surgeries on his hips, Noahs family believes he may actually walk one day. Given how this story has unfolded so far, you should probably bet on it.
Where there is life, there is hope, ping!
Amen to that!
Praise God for this miracle
A beautiful little boy. God created us for the fullness of life.
I was going to make a joke that he would qualify as a Democrat. But then I read that he “grew a brain” and so he is obviously not Democrat material.
Amen!
Looks like the medical establishment didn’t know everything there was to know.
And thank God and this kid’s parents that he was not killed before he had a chance.
I obviously didn’t read this before I posted it.
Sorry!
.
He could have been a great liberal leader, if only his brain hadn’t grown.
.
50 million and counting or this?
By God’s grace... THIS.
Remarkable boy, remarkable parents, remarkable family...
I’ve never heard of anything like this, and it just goes to prove what can sometimes come from never giving in and giving up.
Precious! Wonderful story.
One moral of the story: spelling counts.
Spelling and grammar police should be a paid position.
Great story. I suspect the child was helped in developement by the nerve system in his spinal cord, which some say is like a second brain.

Born a liberal, grew out of it.
Great story. :)
As a survivor of a severe brain and somewhat bad spinal chord injury, I wonder if that is true or not.
I DO know that the “you will only be as good as you are going to get after two years” is a lie, regarding brain injuries.
I’ve had symptoms disappear 7 years later.
And the ones that are left are probably for good. It is what it is.
My worst damage was at the brainstem where it meets the spinal cord. The pain shoots from there to everywhere and when I wake up every morning it hurts severely (docs don’t know why)
Half of face turned red and stayed red which they can’t tell me why either.
I sometimes wonder if a chiropractor would help but I can’t take the chance of making things worse, as my aunt was on the phone with funeral homes ten years ago when I was in ICU!!
AND YES THIS KID IS A MIRACLE!!! GLAD THEY STILL HAPPEN. And God bless him!!
Another miracle would be typing 16 wpm after my injury when I typed 100 before. I am now back up to 100.
God is great.
Sometimes it’s more useful if they don’t. People wind up exposing themselves. It can be really helpful to us all. And usually one can tell if it is a typo versus a real error or spelling mistake.
