Ebell says just half of the government agency needed to provide core mission on air, water
Myron Ebell, who headed President Donald Trumps transition team at the Environmental Protection Agency, said if it were up to him, the president would reduce agency funding by half and employees by two-thirds. But which half? And which two-thirds? What would remain of the EPA if the president enacted Ebells plan or something similar to it?
Scott Slesinger, legislative director of the Natural Resources Defense Council, is worried that much of what we have come to rely on the EPA to do would be undone.

I ove it.Good start to shutting it down permenantly.
It’s a good start. Then we can reconvene in a few days and see if we should cut another 50%.
yes, 75% over there ..
Do we have 80 ? !
Shut! It! DAOWN!
I have 85% now......
Yes, exactly...
>that much of what we have come to rely on the EPA to do would be undone.<
What we have come to expect from them is a trampling of private property rights and a general SJW snooping into our private lives.
The EPA’s primary mission is to destroy capitalism and just generally F over their fellow man.
This same agency banned over the counter asthma inhalers due to their contribution to green house gas emissions. Bullshit, they are inhaled. This was done out of meanness, not science.
Most of them need fired, many need jailed for crimes against the country.
Cut it 100%.
The half that was on board before 2008.
That'll be bad enough...
Put it in these terms, we need at least 300MM to help out Cal with its environmental disaster if the dam fails.
Since environmentalism is a religion EPA employees to the very last man should all perform their work pro bono.
they shall Delight in proving their faith.
How about we stop floating these things and start doing them!
Who would be around to threaten landowners who have a rain puddle, now branded a wet land, on their property? The EPA was Nixon’s worst idea. States should get block grants for clean ups as they are needed. Put that function under FEMA, and abolish the EPA entirely.
Enough talk please. Enough leaks please.
If they can’t shut the EPA down completely just eliminate all the empire building and mission creep we have seen in the last 45 years.
Return it to it’s original, limited basic functions.
It is the out of control EPA, not Watergate that ranks as President Richard Nixon’s greatest failure.
Government agencies should have defined, limited, specific missions clearly spelled out to prevent the kind of empire building we have seen at the EPA, BATFE, BLM, etc.
While it may need help here and there, this Protection bit has gone too far.
My big thing is protecting the waters of the US. I live along Lake Ontario...and know this should be the chief target of the EPA.
