The time will come when you won't be able to buy a cup of coffee without being traced, warns investment guru Jim Rogers. To control people, governments will increasingly seek to hunt down cash spending, he adds.
Many countries are already doing this. Some states in the US you cannot make cash transactions above a certain amount. Governments love it. Then they can control you. If you want to go and buy a cup of coffee, they know how many you drink, where you buy them, etc., if they can all put it into electronic formats and they will. The world is all going electronic, the investor said.
According to Rogers, governments will claim they are doing it for the public good, not for themselves.
When it's done, the governments are going to be very, very happy they are going to say they're doing it for our own good, this is not them, this is for our good. That they're doing this, but its coming, and it's going to be a whole different world in which we live. Probably we are not going to have as many freedoms as we have now even though we are already losing our freedoms at a significant pace, Rodgers told the radio.
This month, the European Commission proposed a bill targeting cash payments.
The people who know better than you know this must happen as automation and AI take over. They truly see a day when no one works. In order to do so, they must confiscate your wealth. I cannot accept this, but Ray Kurzweild says I Will, You Will. Some future huh?
“Some states in the US you cannot make cash transactions above a certain amount.”
Yeah, I don’t believe that states can regulate the maximum amount of cash one can spend.
Will never happen.
Primarily because all the key Democrat constituency groups get by through combining welfare with various under-the-table cash enterprises.
Politically they’d be cutting their own throats.
So, let’s encourage one of our own to propose a constitutional amendment that will prevent that from ever happening. Anyone who opposes is the enemy and should be treated as such, with extreme prejudice.
Perhaps not, but they do have reporting requirements. Deposit X number of dollars in cash in your bank account in one transaction, the bank reports it. Deposit Y number of dollars in cash in your bank account (where Y is below the reporting requirement) in such a way as to look like you're deliberately trying to avoid the reporting requirement, and the bank reports it and the DA can come after you.
It's been standing law for a generation that any cash transaction over $10,000 must be reported to the Feds. This number will have changed over the years since then depending on the jurisdiction.
Which States limit cash transactions? The only place I’ve ever been that wouldn’t take cash is the FedEx hub. They said it was because they could potentially have wads every day and be targets for robberies.
When I have taken out large amounts, ($5K+), the tellers will act like they’re making small talk trying to find out what I need the cash for. My usual reply is along the lines of it is none of their business. Not convinced its actual small talk and not nosey prying.
More importantly, when all money is electronic, the government can confiscate it or otherwise transfer it for any purpose they might conceive. For instance, bank bail-ins.
When government got involved in marriage heavily they destroyed marriage.
When government got involved heavily in education they destroyed it.
When government got involved in sex roles they destroyed sex roles.
When the government got involved with religion they destroyed it.
why is there any reason to believe an economy heavily monitored by government will be any different..?
they will turn us all into beggars with their hare brained schemes.
Very likely
The US Government aided India in its forced project to eliminate all large bills. The technology is available, and its a huge tool in government and financial control.
expect same to be rolled out in the USA after a suitable pretext is found.
Don’t allow them to put the mark on your hand or forehead.
Its not small talk. They need to keep records of ALL "large" cash transactions in case of FDIC, SEC, US Treasury or Federal Reserve audit. Banks do not have a law enforcement role, but they must keep incredibly detailed records now. Your transaction will be filed and recorded and even if they fill in the report saying "customer declined to give reason" they must still must note it.
Most banks do not like the onerous regulations either, but if you want to play on Wall Street, that's what Fed.gov requires.
“The time will come when you won’t be able to buy a cup of coffee without being traced, “
+++++++++++++++++++++++
I can do that????????????????
@*bux even...????????????
Hmmmm...???Nah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The states, just like the fed already does, can add paperwork though. They usually do this at the bank level, banks have paperwork to fill out handing out large quantities of cash, and paperwork when they take it in. Any business that doesn’t want to hassle with that kind of paperwork limits the cash they take in.
Imagine having the gun grabbing leftists in the government having the ability to monitor and track every purchase we make of guns, ammo, long term storage foods, etc.
In some states they are already trying to control and track legal person to person gun sales or loans by requiring a background check on every gun transfer, permanent or temporary.
As a person who is 100% cash except for Internet purchases, etc., I say MEGABUMP to your post.
Recently made a purchase of $3,200 and change. When I reached into my pocket to pay, I assume the seller was expecting a credit card. He was completely dumbfounded when I laid 32 $100 bills on the counter.
Soros wins if we eliminate cash.
You won't be able to buy or sell without it. Don't be surprised if this is not a literal mark. What you do with your hands could be a mark and what you think as well.
Cash is guaranteed. I can deal for trucks and tools with cash. Mom and pop businesses such as furniture stores will reconsider lower price offers if you flash your wad. I recall some FReepers in another ‘going cashless’ article that they are good with cashless, and that only vagabonds, transients, and blacks still use cash. Whatever.
“The states, just like the fed already does, can add paperwork though. “
Indeed. But to my knowledge no state (or the Feds) PROHIBITS the USE of cash based on the amount.
