In July of 2015, Macy’s announced they would be cutting ties with then Presidential candidate, Donald Trump over his comments about Mexican immigration. At the time their stock price was trading at apprx $72.00 per share. Today, Macy’s stock is worth $32.58 per share.

Macy’s stock was trading at a recent high of $72.31 per share in July 2015, shortly after announcing that it was dropping Trump on July 1, 2015.
Today, that stock was worth just $32.90 per share — a massive 54% collapse.
As a few big name brands have droppedPresident Donald J. Trump and Ivanka Trump’s brands last week, it brought to mind one of the first to throw down the gauntlet with The Donald, Macy’s department stores. Within a month of Trump’s announcement promising to stem the tide of illegal immigrants from Mexico, Macy’s cut off its 10+ year long relationship with Trump.

Amazon.com has much more to do with their declining stock price than their stupidity with Trump’s brand while catering to illegals. That fact, however, doesn’t make me any less pleased with this news.

You know what I said about politics and religion when I had my vending machine route and was talking with the owners of the locations? NOTHING.
If they said something conservative then I was all in.
Until then, why do they need to know? It’s got NOTHING to do with business.
I cut my card up and sent it back with a note saying that since they severed ties with Trump, I was severing ties with them. They sent me a note saying it was too bad I felt that way.

My wife dropped her longtime Macy’s account and has now done the same with Nordstrom’s
I avoided the nfl all season, including the SB. I absolutely will not watch any nba. SportsCenter is now rarely seen here, as is Outside The Lines.
The Grammys were off limits last night (kudos to Ms Villa), as will be the biggest exercise of self aggrandizement aka Oscars. HBO/Showtime et al? Long gone, and not primarily to save money either.
We’ve also done ourselves a favor by ending a diet soft drink habit.
