I’ve heard that prostitutes in Cuba particularly consort with foreign men, who bring hard currency, access to unaffordable consumer goods, to the transaction.

I’ve heard that many ordinary women, ordinary housewives, supplement the family income.

The average Cuban earns something like 30 to 50 dollars a month, I believe?? This worker’s paradise mandates that their workers earn starvation level wages. Looked at that way, it’s not surprising that some turn to illegal/immoral activities to help their families survive.

Sounds like a few local parole officers around where I live... harassing the younger female parolees with incarceration for a little commission money and perhaps some side action... While the judges turn a blind eye and never ask for documentation.
