The Oroville Dam is the highest in the nation.

3 Comcast guys later ... SMH!
Getting back to speed here. I’m reading up to 10” of rain forecast to Monday night.
Oh man...that’s an ordeal. Glad they got you online though..
I read the 10” also...we’ll see. Snowmelt will play a role of course.

The California National Guard was forced to dispel rumors Thursday that were running rampant on social media, saying that more evacuations would soon be needed. The story spread fast in Oroville after a citizen recorded her conversation with a soldier.
And what the soldier said was wrong, California National Guard Major General David Baldwin said.
You can absolutely trust your National Guard. Were a community-based force, Baldwin added. Were fighting and winning our nations wars. We are out there on the line defending our country and helping people here at home. They can absolutely trust them. Having said that, people make mistakes and we are going to address mistakes.
KCRA 3 also learned Thursday that 15 construction crew members were terminated from the job this week.
Five were fired after they failed a drug test, five others were terminated for posting on social media from the worksite — which is forbidden — and five others were let go because they were found to be unqualified for the job, DWR spokesman Chris Orrock said.
long range models continue to hint at a long cool dry spell after starting in about 6 days....
The key remains the main spillway
so far so good
While Southern Californians will be seeing the bulk of their rain before the end of the weekend, those in Northern California can expect heavier rain late Sunday and into Monday.
The weather brings more worries for communities south of the heavily damaged Oroville Dam. Rainfall continuing over the next seven days could total more than 12 inches.
I speculate that part of the reasoning for reducing the spillway release to dredge and get the power plant back up was because they want that extra 15k CFS come Monday... I worry that it will be wasted as a blockage likely rebuilds in short order.
Rain runoff may have undermined Oroville Dam’s concrete spillway, report says

That was an interesting exchange and reaction yesterday.
A poster made an apt observation about it somewhere yesterday, saying this is what happens when citizens lose trust in their public officials and government. EVERYTHING becomes suspect, conspiracies abound and facts become scarce.
Whether it’s about a potential dam implosion, Russians fixing the election or the earth being flat...it’s all up for grabs.
So 33% druggies, 33% idiots and 33% unqualified. Sounds about like a typical construction crew in Kalifornia.
