Switzerland voted Sunday on whether to make it easier for third generation immigrants to become citizens, after a campaign tainted by anti-Muslim messages and charges of religious prejudice.
Preliminary results pointed to the measure being approved, in what would be a defeat for the far right nationalist Swiss People’s Party (SVP), which put issues of Islam and national identity at the center of the debate.
The government as well as most lawmakers and political parties supported the proposal that would allow the grandchildren of immigrants to skip several steps in the lengthy process of securing a Swiss passport.
According to a migration department study, less than 25,000 people in the country of about eight million currently qualify as third generation immigrants, meaning they have at least one grandparent who was born here or acquired Swiss residency. Nearly 60 percent of that group are Italians, followed by those with origins in the Balkans and Turkish nationals. …

I was getted razzed by some cousins in Switzerland about Trump. I am going to ask them why the Swiss dont have birth right citizenship especially since they do not border a 3rd world narco state.
It takes three generations to become a citizen. Now that is a looonnnnng wait!
Not if it's a culture that has 12 year olds becoming child brides and moms.
They did vote to ease citizenship requirements for third generation residents.
It is extremely difficult to become a citizen or even to get a working visa in Switzerland
Looking at how quickly the West is collapsing...pretty much under its own weight...I'm glad that I'm a lot closer to the grave than to the cradle.
Allowing third generation residents, who have to be acculturated, speak a local language, and be self-supporting to become citizens, and who are less than 1% of the population, does not seem to be a suicide note.
But then, allowing women to vote was supposed to be harmless as well.

Exactly how I am feeling also. It is mind numbing to see. I just have to look at what the left is excepting to understand the Bible verse of 2 Corinthians 4:4 The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. and also 2 Corinthians 3:16.... I can see the people just do not get it and can not see it even when something is right in front of them...they are blinded.......Pray this country opens it’s eyes and that veil is lifted, before it is to late.
It’s a sad state of affairs, that’s for sure. :(
When I read about the craziness going on in today’s world, I’m glad to be closer to grave than cradle as well. I fear for my kids and grandkids.

The EU, with the Swiss Socialists and Feminists got the hundreds of years old policy changed so that the ammunition is now kept in central arsenals. I recall it happened a few years ago.
They still keep the rifles and pistols in their home.
It is only for Swiss citizens, though.
It's really hard to screw that up but the liberals are trying.
