No one is rooting for the wall between the United States and Mexico to not be built harder than Fox News resident liberal Bob Beckel.
Beckel is against the idea of the wall in general, but now Kimberly Guilfoyle, his co-host on The Five gave him another, better, reason to oppose it.
During a segment on the projected cost of the project, Beckel highlighted a new study that said it might cost $21.6 billion and he contended the wall wont be built.
I have to break this to you, Bob, Guilfoyle said, the wall is getting built.
The wall is not getting built, Beckel insisted. Ill bet you the most extreme bet you can have.
Guilfoyle immediately raised the stakes.
I will spend the rest of my life with you if that wall does not, she said before being interrupted by laughter from the panel.

Cost effective - this compares quite favorably with handing out taxpayer-funded benefits to illegals for a few years.
In the end, the wall will more than pay for itself.
To: Jack Hammer
liberals now concerned for state rights like in CA, and spending.
Yea right. The cost to build is still cheaper than paying a life time of millions of illegals and their children. Health, dental, education , welfare, handouts, crime, prisons, jobs taken, etc The list goes on and on.

Henceforth there will be no greater wall advocate than Beckel!

...Beckel highlighted a new study that said it might cost $21.6 billion...Place a moratorium on The Davis-Bacon Act (or is it The Mason-Dixon Act?) and the cost will come down by about 90%.

Not good. Canadian tennis player Eugenie Bouchard made an online twitter bet during the Super Bowl to go on a date when she tweeted Atlanta was going to win. I don’t think there was any downside for the bettor if Atlanta did win. What does Beckel lose if the wall is built? And no one knows the future and Kimberly doesn’t need the downside that’s for sure.

It’ll also benefit Mexico: without Mexico being such an easy source of street drugs, the notoriety of places like Sinaloa will greatly recede. This reflects the addressing of a USA wickedness problem; Mexico doesn’t have the only wickedness in our current picture.
This will put Mexico in a better position to be self supporting.
Good walls make good neighbors!
(As an aside. I’m quasi libertarian about drugs, but would want to see the trade occur in the sunshine, not in the dark — no clandestine street drugs, please. For one thing we would have a good handle on how bad the situation actually is. For another thing we would be able to deploy intervention to addiction problems more wisely.)

I agree that the wall is the one thing Trump HAS to do, no ifs, ands, or buts about it. It is his one promise that voters most associate with his campaign. And while they may allow some wiggle room on some of his campaign promises such as the refugee ban or Obamacare, the wall is nonnegotiable. If he goes into 2020 and no substantial progress has been made on the wall (whether his fault or not) he will get slammed and mocked by both sides worse than when George HW Bush broke his “Read My Lips.” pledge.

Net cost of illegal immigration is $10 - $100 billion per year, depending on which economist you ask. Even by the most conservative estimate (actually, made by the most liberal economists) The Wall® pays for itself in two years. What was the last Federal project that did that?

"In the end the wall will more than pay for itself."
We shouldn't need a wall for that. We should be telling them when they apply for those benefits that they are for American citizens only.
The wall is still necessary for all the other obvious reasons.

It’s probably the only thing that would head off the need for such a thing as a USA universal identity card.

And even though Mexico’s elite squeals about it, it will help the average Mexican redneck. Because Mexico has another intruder: street drug money.
