In the tiny cemetery in my hometown, a headstone reads:
Been here and gone.
Had a good time.

Honest for once in an obituary. I’ve read so many of people I know were rotten to the core, but the obit would have you believe s/he was a saint. This is refreshing!

They said he was intelligent. What more could you ask for.

What is the posthumous point?
To prove the family are dicks too?

It would have been better to have said nothing. The dead are defenseless, and already facing eternal justice. However justified the suffering at this decedent’s hands might have been, the souls of the living are only poisoned by bitterness.

This could have been written for my wife’s brother in law...he’s not dead yet, but this would be a great template for his obit.

Wouldn’t you love to see an honest obit for Ted Kennedy?

Sounds like Leslie was your average everyday leftist.

Well, Ray may have deserved all this but maybe the person or persons writing these bad things about a dead man is just as bad. Sounds like it (the badness) runs in the family from reading the obituary.

It would have been better to have said nothing. TExactly, this man had children and grandchildren. those so upset wouldnt be in this world if not for him. i dont see anything about child abuse. no need to speak of the dead that way.
To: NRx
The writer sounds very bitter. I wonder how much of the characterization was actually true?

This is a pretty ugly obituary full of hate and lacking in grace.
Either he is undeserving or he made those around him angry and vicious too.
