When Vice President Mike Pence declared that national security adviser Michael Flynn didn't talk to the Russian ambassador about sanctions before President Trump's inauguration, he was repeating what Flynn had told him directly, a source in the Trump administration tells the Daily News.
Pence said in a Jan. 15 appearance on CBS' "Face the Nation" that Flynn's pre-inauguration contacts with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak had nothing to do with the Obama administration's sanctions punishing Russia for its meddling in the 2016 election. That claim has now been directly contradicted by reports in the New York Times and Washington Post that say Flynn did discuss the sanctions in December, a potentially illegal move.
"They did not discuss anything having to do with the United States' decision to expel diplomats or impose censure against Russia," Pence told CBS at the time.
An administration source confirms to the Daily News other reports that Pence was just repeating what Flynn told him directly before the interview, strongly suggesting that Flynn lied to Pence.

Couple of things: if this is true about Flynn, I find it amazing how quickly the conversation was exposed. Hillary took a few years to come to Congress and answer questions with lot of I don’t recall, I don’t remember statements. It takes years to expose the Dems of anything.
I truly believe someone is listening to every conversation of Trump’s people and feeding it to Obama’s people and then getting the yes or no, to leak to the news.
Flynn, being a Democrat, never made me comfortable with his appointment in Trump’s cabinet. This is all over the news tonight.
These “current and former government officials” appear to be everywhere. I wonder how they do it. They are continuously in the news. Any names?

About all the MSM can manage to do.
Part of Trump's media strategy, perhaps the biggest part, is to control the media narrative.
I am not saying that Trump controls the leaks or is even aware of the source of the leaks.
But everything ultimately seems to dovetail with all White House news to "flood the zone" (the media zone) and, once again, let Trump control the media narrative.

Flynn allowed himself to be boxed in by the MSM narrative that if he talked to the Russians before the inauguration, that it meant the Russians were interfering in the election or something.
He needs to be more Trumpian.
Be in your face - say “Hell yes I talked with the Russian ambassador, as a professional in US national security I am constantly talking to and monitoring the attitudes of representatives of our allies, opponents and enemies around the world whenever I have the opportunity. Screw you, MSM.”
Either this is complete fiction or somebody is leaking intelligence intercepts. Either way, it is alleged there is a leak, so it’s pretty simple: the President should direct Comey to investigate whether than has been a leak. The only way to stop leaks is to prosecute the leakers.
He and Trump are in control of this narrative...not the media.
Remember, this is Friday night. File dump night...media dump night.
This story knocks everything else off the screen...and it will go nowhere.
Trump is a prankster...and now his pranks serve our national interest in "flooding the zone" of the opposition media. The media dogs will chase their tails until they get tired of the story.
And the story then goes away, just added to the fizzled and dead story heap.
And once again, Trump shows the media who the boss is.
Don’t see what the issue is anyway. So what if he talked to the Russian ambassador about the sanctions? He was the NSA designee named by he President Elect. Seems a bug non-issue. Intel guys shade the truth all the time.
