Amazon takes victory lap for its role in halting Trump’s travel ban
New York Post ^ | 10 Feb 17 | Daniel Halper

A top lawyer for internet retailer Amazon is taking a victory lap for the company’s role in the Ninth Circuit Court’s decision to retain the temporary restraining order halting President Trump’s travel ban.

“Proud of @AGOWA, the Amazon legal team that helped on the case, and amici — who all made today’s 9th Circuit ruling possible,” David Zapolsky, Amazon general counsel, wrote Thursday night on Twitter.

It’s unknown what precise role, if any, Zapolsky’s team played in the appeals court decision.

But there has been bad blood between Trump and Amazon owner Jeff Bezos for over a year.

On the campaign trail, Trump said the internet entrepreneur and newspaper owner would have “problems” if Trump was elected.

“I have respect for Jeff Bezos, but he bought the Washington Post to have political influence, and I got to tell you, we have a different country than we used to have,” said Trump at a campaign stop in February 2016.

“He owns Amazon. He wants political influence so that Amazon will benefit from it. That’s not right. And believe me, if I become president, oh, do they have problems. They’re going to have such problems,” Trump said of Bezos.

That sort of material crosses over from free speech to aiding and abetting.

This is killing me, Amazon really has a great service, and I use lots of aspects of it — my Kindles, Prime, Prime Videos, not to mention the convenience, speed, and great service of orders. I just got rid of Netflix this morning. Not quite ready to give up Amazon, but I will start using alternatives where I can. And if all this keeps getting worse, it may come to that!

“That sort of material crosses over from free speech to aiding and abetting.”

Oh, yes. The Constitution is not a suicide pact.

Like you, I don't buy much anymore, and will join you in boycotting the likes of Amazon.

The bastards may not care, but it bolsters my combat attitude re those whose actions undermine our sovereignty.

The Leftist judicial activists actually needed no prodding to rule the way they did. Bezos is trying to bask in reflected glory. It looks like Bezos is just jealous of Trump.

It’s almost a form of bondage. I’ve worked with many H1B visa holders, mostly from India, and they’re here because it’s better than what they can get at home. But not only are they paid less, they usually have no benefits because they are contract employees and, as you say, they are bound to their employer In order to stay.

Amazon supports abortion. I do not support Amazon because of that.

I see you’re taking to heart the communist injunction to accuse others of what you do.

You’re on the wrong side of this issue, and I don’t have any more time or good will to waste on a fool.

Find what you want on Amazon, then order from the other sites listed. I use gift cards for kindle books, as I don’t like to do credit card. When this one runs out no more.

As they get bigger, they will get better.
Walmart just bought them out for $3 billion a few months ago. They will offer almost everything in a couple years.
