A lot are just ducking the deadbeat dad thing and are working under the table or begging. If they get a legit job they’ll have to pay child support, making it not worthwhile for them to work.

I know a couple and they are doing mostly side work to make ends meat.

"What are these (white) men doing?"

Watching Mexicans work who have stolen their jobs.

"...make ends meat"

Could you rephrase that?

Women drop out of the labor force regularly to raise children, but their parenting ensures they have valuable skills (beginning with a keen sense of time management) that ensure that when they want to get jobs they are more readily hired by employers than are men who drop out of work and spend their days watching everything on Netflix or getting to the highest levels of video games.

Really? This seems awfully tendentious. Much as I admire the skills of a mother/homemaker (bilingual choir leader, committee chair, teacher, Scout leader), I don't see why an employer would automatically choose someone who's been mothering for 20 years over a man who wasn't working because whatever.

Other factors that come to mind are education level, health, drug history (or present), and the all-important showing up for your shifts sober and not stealing, which are not limited to one sex or the other.

Just said the same.. They pick up side work as the usual jobs for the companies have gone. Once upon a time men could go to industrial estates, and ports to fill an application out while asking if they are hiring.
Today it is all about frigging resumes, online applications where you never see the business.

Many causes:

Immigration, courts hate men, industry moving abroad, broad cultural hostility to men generally and white men in particular.

That is, not working in the official labor force. Many of them are indeed doing work of some sort. Need a sofa moved? Got a couple of rooms that need painting? Would you like a cord of firewood delivered? Perhaps you need Linux installed and configured on your old computer? Have some vintage audio equipment that needs rebuilding? Or a field of hay that needs to be cut and baled?

These guys are out there, I know quite a few of them.

Immigration, courts hate men, industry moving abroad, broad cultural hostility to men generally and white men in particular.

In my case (along with *MANY* coworkers over a 6-7 year period), dealing with a business hostile environment in California and seeing our jobs move out of state (defense contractor - defense & military software systems). Despite the critical nature of the work, given it was mainly classified (TS/S/SCI), some of the remaining employees were foreign nationals. That wouldn't have flown under any previous administration, including Clinton's. But Obama didn't care, and I lost my job of a little over 30 years back in late 2012, right around election time.

All I know is this:

If guys won’t engage females now,
Just wait until sex robots are a REAL THING.

I would never, but...I’m pretty sure there are plenty that would.

It will cut more sent fertility down 10x more than anything we’ve ever seen, making feminism seem like nothing.

It will be STRANGE for men to scam on women.

I honestly think a part of it is the new PC atmosphere that men have to deal with. It’s a real pain in the ass being a White male 40-50 something employee in today’s environment. You make one simple comment that others misinterpret and you’d have thought you just asked the woman next to you for oral sex out loud, with the reaction the group gives.

This hasn’t happened to me, but I have seen it happen. It happened for rather innocent comments. It just depends on how the group dynamic swings. It may be okay for one person to say something, and not okay for another person to say the same thing. It has to do with who is acceptable to the group and who isn’t.

I am a PhD Engineer with an extraordinary resume, top schools...out of work since July. 50s. I am now looking at positions that paid 1/3 of what I made 5 years ago. I do a little consulting, but I would love to work full time.
