Spot on. It’s a project, potentially daunting. But, if one wants marriage and children, with a spouse from another country, it’s a consideration.

21 years later, she left.
Now I have that special sense of losing everything and trying to start over. She even has half of my military retirement. For life.
So I’m fortunate I had my good times, but now the bad times are VERY deep and here to stay, so it seems.
I can honestly say, knowing it both ways, if I had to do it all over, I wouldn’t.

You’d be wrong. I thought things were solid, both my AND her family says she just wigged out, and the lives of the kids were ruined forever.
But I do understand that life isn’t fair.
Same story except my work pension. Right down to the 21 years. I’m thankful for my 2 children. Life goes on teaching me things. Stay well.

Not to mention Uncle Sam taking the place of dad by giving welfare to unwed mothers. I’ve read where there are many instances of the baby daddy saying he lives somewhere else yet stays with mom and baby(ies) while the taxpayer subsidizes housing and benefits for the poor, single mother.

At first, on this thread, all I could think was that there were a lot of unhappy guys here on FR. After reading more of the thread - I’m stunned. There are some people in very unhappy situations. It’s unimaginable - to quote the news about Fukishama - to be in a situation with a withholding cold spouse. How does one cope in a situation such as that? That is so wrong.

Bingo! The propaganda is a >HUGE< part of it and most women are followers. Want to have a traditional marriage? Get a wife that won’t watch hours of “Oprah”, “Real Housewives of...” and “Sex and the City”.
When they learn how to make mama happy, they will be happy. Happy wife, happy life. That philosophy got me through 34 happy years.
It’s hard to debate with someone who picks and chooses Bible verses, out of context, to argue. That said, you need to read Ephesians 5:22-33 on how to live a marriage, for men and women.
Proverbs 31:10 seems to be appropriate on this thread: A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies.
