Well,I certainly can't claim a deep understanding of today's Connecticut.However,I listen to Rush on my smartphone WTIC in Hartford and,as a result,I get some state news during their top of the hour breaks.
Also,I get to Greenwich/New Canaan/Darien on a fairly regular basis and I can assure you that there aren't many signs of poverty *there*.
Assuming you're from CT (it sounds like you might be) you probably know what's going on statewide.
But to be honest my statement about CT actually applies to my attitude toward the entire country.This country's far too fat,far too comfortable.We need experiences at least similar to (but not necessarily identical to) what my parents experienced during the Depression.Such an experience would reacquaint us with what's *really* important.

Actually I am also. And for good reason. In PA one can only vote for his party in the primaries. As a Dem I get to vote against Democrats TWICE!!

CT might be the epicenter of RINO-ism, the GOPe and residual NeverTrumpism. This phenomenon is centered in Fairfield County, and those who derive from that area, not surprisingly. I’ve met quite a few Republicans in CT who openly admit they voted for Clinton. Towns (like my own) that reliably voted Republican in past elections flipped and went for the Crook in November. This observation alone leads me to believe there is very little hope for CT.

Actually, I’m not sure what label would apply. I can tell you that i was far from the only Dem at a Trump rally we attended before the election. So, whatever I am, sounds like there are a lot of us.

I think it is entirely possible for Gorsuch to have said something along the line that the situation over the executive order is demoralizing/disheartening.
That comment would actually not point a finger at Trump at all.
Also, for him to verbalize any support for Trump’s position would disqualify him to hear the case if he is confirmed before it might be heard.
That’s why I suspect he said that the situation is disheartening....that would include the federal judge, the 9th circuit, the media, the administration, etc. It would include everyone with any role.
Blumenthal, a known liar, has probably lied about this exchange through mischaracterization.
