Senators move to limit Trump on Russia sanctions

A bipartisan group of senators is moving to check President Trump on Russia by bolstering congressional oversight before he can lift sanctions. Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), Ben Cardin (D-Md.), Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio), John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) introduced legislation Wednesday setting up a period of congressional oversight before Trump could roll back financial penalties.

The legislation, known as the Russia Sanctions Review Act, would require Trump to notify Congress before he lifts sanctions tied to the invasion of Ukraine or Russia's meddling in the White House race.

“To provide relief at this time would send the wrong signal to Russia and our allies who face Russian oppression. Sanctions relief must be earned, not given," said Graham, a frequent GOP critic of the president.

Lawmakers would have 120 days to pass a joint resolution of disapproval blocking Trump from lifting the sanctions. Trump also would not be able to lift sanctions while Congress was reviewing the proposal.

Leftist/RINO game — Divert attention from much more dangerous nations, and try to de-legitimize Trump, by attacking Russia.

You’re correct. Trump wants to focus on domestic policies which he campaigned on. Let congress bat around this other time wasting international stuff. Get you tax and economic package tweaked while you have some momentum.

Are we talking about the sanctions Obama implemented in response to the Russians “hacking our election”?

New Gang of Six?

We really need to remove all these gang members from the Senate.

Especially the Three Stooges, McCain , Graham and Rubio who think arming jihadis is a good idea.

Absolutely not! Don’t you dare besmirch the name of The Three Stooges by associating them with such human filth! The Three Stooges were funny. They wanted to make us laugh and to forget our worries for 15 minutes. Linda, McSlime, Lil Marco aren’t fit to shine Moe, Larry, Curly or Shemp’s shoes. Let’s just call them the three assholes as that is much more of an accurate description.

Yep, all on Soros' payroll. When it look at how much he gave them it is amazing how cheap these politicians will sell their souls for. But of course, it is understood that their effectiveness is doing what Soros want will be handsomely rewarded.

My guess is that report was on just one of Soros’s funds. Identify them all and find out how much each of Soros’s funds paid them and total it up. I bet they weren’t cheap. I bet the payoffs are much higher than we know.

At least the one in Maryland which they BOUGHT

I’m surprised they never raised a lawsuit about us seizing their property but figured Putin was giving Trump time to make it right

This is beyond stupid. We now have the best deal maker in many decades in the White House, and Congress wants to tie his hands!

Anyone with a modicum of common sense will realize how counter-productive this will be! Just look at the deals Trump has made with major business & foreign leaders, in the less than three weeks he has been in office, to see how idiotic this is. To bind the President's hands is to utterly undermine our greatest advantage.

Did not some of these same "geniuses" agree to give Obama "fast track" authority to make a trade deal, or am I confused on that. Certainly there is no basis to think the great apologist for America was more likely to conclude a favorable deal for America than would Trump.
