The confessed killer of Queens jogger Karina Vetrano told detectives he hated the victim’s predominantly white neighborhood of Howard Beach, leading cops to believe race played a role in the murder, sources told The Post.
“I don’t like those people over there,” said Chanel Lewis, 20, who is black and split time between homes in the largely impoverished neighborhoods of East New York and Brownsville, according to sources.
Lewis made the statement to a black detective when asked why he killed Vetrano, who was found strangled in Spring Creek Park. His comment caused cops to believe race was a factor in Vetrano’s slaying, sources said.
A white detective initially tried twice to get Lewis to talk and he refused, according to sources.
But when the black detective, Barry Brown, interviewed him, Lewis waived his Miranda rights and gave two videotaped statements, confessing he’d “hit” and “choked” the jogger on Aug. 2.
Brown is known as a highly skilled officer and the “best detective in Queens for getting confessions,” sources said.

Federal government statistics have documented that blacks murder at a rate of seven times the rate of whites.
Those records have been increasingly hard to find, as the Obama administration stressed the race of the victims, not the perps.

Yes, probably so, but at least me and my loved ones would still be alive! You can’t continue to defend them from a pine box! That said, I do agree with you that the laws regarding deadly force need to be countrywide and not subject to the whim of any other political entity for interpretation. And CHANGE is coming. I was at a range here in CA a couple of days ago. They are offering classes to obtain a non-resident Utah CCW ( which is good in about 26 states, but not CA), so when the law is changed in the Congress (hopefully later this year) CA will be forced to recognize a Utah CCW. The problem here in CA is that the counties where you really need a CCW for protection, you can’t get one. The counties where you are safest will issue you a permit.
This should not be surprising. Our society for decades has been promoting to minorities cultural-marxist “critical race theory” and system oppression.
Go to any college and look at their various social science programs, any government office with their civil rights divisions, or any corporation with their diversity training.
There is a significant portion of people who, after being soaked in this non-stop racial hatred towards whites, feel justified and emboldened to act on it.

I remember there was a time when you could get a CA CCW issued by a county that you did not reside in. Some people were going to counties with easy issuance policies. The state stopped that.
Well, yea it is certainly better than being killed or maimed. I just think the liability itself, as things currently stand, is one of the biggest hurdles to convincing responsible people to carry.

Yes and what brought it to a head was the Chief of Police of Isleton, a little town on the Sacramento River just west of Sacramento issuing CCW’s to anyone wanting one. They also wrote legislation differentiating counties with fewer than 200,000 residents with one’s with more. Sonoma County won’t give you one, but Mendocino County (just to the north of Sonoma) will do it willingly.
I believe your statistic is just overall murders, including blacks killing blacks. Indeed, the majority of all murders in the USA are intra-race: whites killing whites, blacks killing blacks, etc.... BUT If you drill down to murder where killer and victim are different races - Blacks kill whites at a per capita rate 25X higher than whites kill blacks.
the overall numbers are not huge, 409 black on white murders in 2013 (black on black was 2245 and white on white was 2509) - in a country of 320 million (so no one should panic we are on the brink of a race war) but the statistics are valid.
It’s really nutty here in CA. If your property is fenced and gated, you can carry a gun on it, but not without the fencing!
There’s no such thing as black racism hate crimes toward whites.

I understand. My point is the absolute blackout of the subject, entirely.
Mere mention of how violent blacks are, raises extreme objections.
We don’t even get to discuss or consider it, although it is horrific.
Blacks ought to be equally concerned.
