The Senate confirmed Betsy DeVos on Tuesday as education secretary, approving the embattled nominee only with the help of a historic tiebreaking vote from Vice President Mike Pence.
The 51-to-50 vote elevates Ms. DeVos — a wealthy philanthropist from Michigan who has devoted much of her life to expanding educational choice through charter schools and vouchers, but has limited experience with the public school system — to be steward of the nation’s schools.
Considering the mess the experienced education establishment has made of schools at the students’ expense I find her appointment a breath of Spring air. Moving students out of target range of indoctrination is a good thing.
Which GOP voted no..?

I actually called both of their offices yesterday to tell one I had family in Maine that I was going to encourage them to get her out of office as well as called the Alaskan Rino... I just told her that either she was a rino and she was completely in the tank with the teachers union or she would change her heart and mind and vote for Betsy DeVos. Clearly neither one did, clearly we have to make it all of our second jobs to support the person running against them in the next election... $5 donations $10 whatever we can afford and get these two and all of the Rinos out of office!! we can do this!!!

I noticed new reports stating that it’s the first time in our countries history that a vice-president had to vote to break a tie for a cabinet nominee. They neglected to mention Harry Reid’s contribution by using the “nuclear option” to get Obama’s nominees’ approved.
I’m not rich, but if they primary Collins and Murkowsky, I will donate to the challanger for sure. I am tired of rinos.

This is such excellent news!!! God bless Vice-President Pence and all of the Republicans (except the two traitors, who should be driven out of their respective towns with pitchforks). I hope the private/charter school movements bloom all over the country and drive the public schools out of business!

It’s nerve-wracking that we have to rely on Graham, McCain, Flake, etc., to get things done in the Senate. Hopefully, 2018 will bring some more breathing room.
