SAN FRANCISCO (KPIX 5) — Some East Bay conservatives say they live a secret life. They can never tell anyone what they really feel like in fear of their safety.
Robert Ward is coming out conservative, but in a place he says is risky for those who share his beliefs.
“If you witness what happened in Berkeley, actually they are so violent on top of it. I mean being a conservative in the Bay Area is like being a heretic,” says Ward. “You lead a double life. You can never tell your friends and co-workers.”

No nerve. I was originally answering a general question regarding why there a fewer conservative protests than leftist ones in response I got attacked as if I were advocating that conservatives stay home.
I am not advocating that. I wish it were possible to have an opinion without being personally attacked.
Oh well.

I understand that. But I don’t believe that it will ever happen again. When I first come on, we would have discussions, express and exchange ideas and opinions. Very few, if any feathers were ever ruffled.

You dont even live in the same damn state. You want me to fly you out to my state for a protest too on top of having to organize one because you need someone to do what you cant do in your own state?
Just go and sit on your rear end then. Go have a nice day at work, while the rest of us to the heavy lifting since you are “too busy” for this fight.

Swear it’s like I have to have more respect for the left wing agitator that puts in an effort for their side than any lazy conservative that needs their hands fricking held.
I believe that after a bunch of never-Trumpers left in 2016, FR became a much more intellectual (in the conservative sense) site again, with much less bickering. I really don’t like bickering and really wasn’t intending to ignite any with what I thought was a simple comment regarding differences I perceive (rightly or wrongly) between leftists and normal Americans.

I have not worked for that company for 16 years, but will only refer to my former employer as “the famous theme park in Anaheim”. A co worker transferred to Burbank, and told me they break in the new lawyers by having them harass anyone who uses Uncle Walt’s last name, in a manner they don’t approve of. I’m a fifth generation Bay Area native. I miss it terribly. It isn’t the same place anymore, though.
The Left would LOVE to draw us out into the street for a pitched battle. That's the last thing we should do. I also think the police need to exercise restraint as the anarchists would love to claim to be victims of police brutality. Like Scott Adams wrote a few days ago, the Trump-Fascist claim becomes self-fulfilling prophecy. We must not take the bait.
I no longer bother to correct them in the office, on social media or in social settings. They run on pure emotion and are utterly impervious to reason. Besides, they argue from facts cooked up by the controllers of the media narrative. It would be easier to convince a North Korean of the reality of Kim Jung-un's regime. At least the North Korean didn't volunteer to be brainwashed.
Like a whiny brat, Leftists need to be ignored. It won't be easy but it will be like "heaping coals" upon their heads. We are winning.

THE KEY TO THE ISSUE:
The Teachers’ Unions are heading this cabal against DeVos - and I have seen this coming for some time.
The Teachers’ Unions CONTROL WHAT IS TAUGHT - AND THEY HAVE BEEN TEACHING OUR CHILDREN ALL THE WRONG THINGS - AND ELIMINATING ALL THE GOOD THINGS - LIKE THE FOUNDING OF AMERICA (as something good) - TOO MUCH TOUCHY-FEELY STUFF, INSTEAD OF “CRITICAL THINKING”.
I believe DeVos is the BEST PERSON TO TAKE ON THIS ISSUE .. AND GET THE TEACHERS’ UNIONS OUT OF OUR SCHOOLS.
You can clearly see from this information why DeVos is such a lightening rod to the LEFT.
However, SHE WILL BE CONFIRMED - AND ALL AMERICAN CHILDREN WILL REAP THE BENEFIT OF THIS WOMAN’S GREAT IDEAS FOR REALLY EDUCATING OUR CHILDREN - AND .. THEIR EDUCATION IS IMPERATIVE IF WE ARE TO REMAIN THE LEADER OF THE FREE WORLD.
My daughter is a conservative student at a large SoCal university. She said the wailing and gnashing of teeth was pretty comical after the election. It’s since gotten more serious. She is a senior poli sci student and is involved in a lot of theory and discussion classes. The response she gets to her point of view are increasingly rabid.
She said if she wore a Trump shirt on campus, she would fear for her safety and also thinks she would be disciplined by the university or kicked out all together.
I agree, it's getting nasty out there.
