MEXICO CITY (AP) -- Homicides in Mexico rose by 22 percent in 2016, the government reported Friday, the highest rate of increase since the height of the drug war.
Official statistics released by the Interior Department show that Mexico had 20,789 homicides in 2016, compared to 17,034 in 2015.
Some states saw murders rise by dizzying levels. Homicides in the Pacific coast state of Colima more than tripled, and in the Gulf coast state of Veracruz they more than doubled.
Murders rose by 42 percent in the border state of Baja California, 30 percent in the border state of Chihuahua and 65 percent in the western state of Michoacan. . .

Just think what the murder rate in Mexico would currently be, if the US currently had the wall voted for, almost 16 years ago. If it had been built, the violent thugs that have come across the border during the last 16 years would not be here, but in Mexico. Mexico has been shipping their problems across out border for far too long.
We also would not have Muslim terrorist camps across our border in Mexico, and drug cartels transporting anti-American Muslim terrorist across our border.
I’m not that concerned about Mexican coming across to work, but I am extremely concerned about all the other bad actors flooding our border. Close it down now, and make sure we know who has come across, who they are, and what they are here for.
I think Trump is very correct to go after all those, who have a criminal background, first. His second task is to get rid of those who did not come here to assimilate.
