Donald Trump has changed Black History Month to National African American History month, and we know why. A senior administration official tells TMZ, after meeting with African American leaders, he believed the consensus was that the term "black" is outdated, and the more appropriate way to refer to the community is "African American." The official added, Trump was mindful of the new addition to the Smithsonian ... the National Museum of African American History and Culture. Every U.S. president since 1976 had designated February as Black History Month ... same sentiment, different name.

Good. Now white man, Elon Musk can celebrate.
At least it includes the word AMERICAN.
My thought too, LOL...now he can include non-blacks from South Africa, Rhodesia, north Africa....
I remember a national newscaster on CNN or MSNBC described the black frenchman involved in a muslim shooting in france as an “African American”, and the other talking head said something like, “I don’t believe he is American.”
This is ok. Its just a declaration, but it shows he does listen.

First, black is not that old a name for what used to be known as negros or after that, coloured people. Black was picked up by the militant coloured groups in the last century. Its not that it was never used before that, but it was far less common.
We have Italian American and Irish American. ABC is what the Chinese call American Born Chinese. So African American is fine. In that its equivalent to other phrases designed to describe heritage that predates American Citizenship.
What’s not fine are “black leaders”. Whoever heard of Irish leaders, meaning Irish American leaders. What’s not fine is the census that asks, are you Black or White. What’s not fine are black quotas which always go to the same people. Not the ghetto kid, but some upper middle class mostly white kid who did not need the help. And who limit the number of Asians who can be admitted to certain colleges.
We don’t need the survey in the office from the HR department that asks if you are self described, black, white, Hispanic or American Indian. Because only those groups can be discriminated against. And forgetting that a boss can’t discriminate against someone unless he thinks they are black, white, Hispanic or American Indian regardless of how those people self describe themselves.
National Association for the Advancement of African-American People (NAAAP)?
Jarome Iginla is a Canadian hockey player who has had a Hall of Fame career in the NHL over almost two decades. I believe his mother is Canadian and his father was born in Nigeria. I’ve seen U.S. sports media figures refer to him as an “African-American” occasionally. LOL.
You left out an “A.” It would be NAAAAP. LOL.
Blacks change their names about every 40 years. Non-issue to me.
(NAAAP)?
= = = = = = =
That will get you in ‘trouble’...
(NAAAP)?Y HEADED HO!
Ask Mr Imus about that
I’m giving a prize for the most creative way a liberal twists this into making Trump racist.
One cup of mocha latte almond milk gluten free organic free range African forest coffee.
If that is the term THEY prefer, go with it. It does leave out people from my church who are black/African (I guess), but are not USA-born.
I propose another month: Illegal American History Month.
DONALD TRUMP: I’VE 86’D BLACK HISTORY MONTH It’s Now American History Month - can only wish ...
Stupid for DJT to do this. Hyphenated anythings are un-American.
What about white Africans?
You know, as a white person, I’ve got to admit, I don’t think I give a s—.
