CNN)Scott Pruitt, President Donald Trump's nominee to serve as administrator for the Environmental Protection Agency, has advanced to the Senate floor.
Republicans on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee suspended committee rules following the Democrats' boycott of Pruitt's nomination, which began Wednesday.

It was bizarre seeing all the empty seats for the vote. Save that photo for the next election to show how peoples elected officials act like children.
Basically the dems are x-ing themselves out of government... like Charlie Manson, during his trial: “I am x-ing myself from your world...”
They should carve the letter x in their foreheads, the way Charlie did.
That's old fashioned. In today's world they would use tatoos.
DemobRAT tantrums do have consequences. ROTFL!
I’m actually beginning to think this tactic Schumer is attempting may wind up being a good thing. They are normalizing suspension of senate rules which if this continues may embolden Republicans to ultimately revisit filibuster rules as a whole.
The R’s finally have some (fill in the blank) in dealing with the evil party.
GOPe, growing a pair. The Trump Effect. I’m out of breath from all this winning! ;)
It’s time for the filibuster to go.
Every nominee and bill should receive an up-or-down vote. The electorate will have a chance to correct the mistakes.
This will also make it unsafe to vote Democrat thinking that process will stop them from pursuing their kookier goals.
(fill in the blank) = balls, slightly bigger than mouse nutz, but a long way the gorilla nads that will be required to pull the nuke trigger for the SCOTUS.
I hope I'm wrong about the relative size of the pubbie bbs.
I am immensely pleased that things are moving forward in a thoughtful and reasoned way.
The Democrats have had their 1200 or so questions of the EPA duly chosen guy, Scott Pruitt, and they are acting childish by not showing up to the committee.
They are not doing their job.
Continuing this behavior will not be beneficial to them, and will not count for much.
Democrats are being exposed as infants who can’t be trusted with power.
>>Continuing this behavior will not be beneficial to them, and will not count for much.<<
Agreed. In fact, I think they’ll come to regret it in the near future. It was a foregone conclusion that nearly all of Trump’s nominees would be approved, but here you have the GOP changing committee rules already, just to get past nonsense objections.
When the lawmaking starts in earnest, the precedent will have been set to proceed without the Democrats if they refuse to participate and instead concentrate on obstructionist tactics. In effect, they’re diminishing their own power to affect legislation in the future.
All in all, a good outcome.
Why don’t the DIMocRATs boycott the United States? Self-exile would be good for these crybaby sore losers. I laugh at their thrashing about.
It wasn't an "X" -- it was a swastika.
It started with an X. He made it a swastika later on.
“It was bizarre seeing all the empty seats for the vote. Save that photo for the next election to show how peoples elected officials act like children.”
Yep. Look folks, no point in even bothering to elect Democrats: what’s the difference between chairs when a Democrat is elected or when a Democrat isn’t elected? None, the chairs are still empty in both cases.
“Im actually beginning to think this tactic Schumer is attempting may wind up being a good thing. They are normalizing suspension of senate rules which if this continues may embolden Republicans to ultimately revisit filibuster rules as a whole.”
I think you are correct, especially since the Dems have WAY more seats to defend in two years than the Pubs, so it’s the Dems that potentially face losses, not the Pubs.
At least some Republicans are starting to have some backbone.
