For all the hysteria over the bluntness of the mercurial Trump, his agenda marks a return to what used to be seen as fairly normal, as the U.S. goes from hard left back to the populist center.
Trump promises not just to reverse almost immediately all of Obama's policies, but to do so in a pragmatic fashion that does not seem to be guided by any orthodox or consistently conservative ideology.
Trade deals and jobs are Trump's obsessions -- mostly for the benefit of blue-collar America.
He calls for full-bore gas and oil development, a common culture in lieu of identity politics, secure borders, deregulation, tax reform, a Jacksonian foreign policy, nationalist trade deals in places of globalization, and traditionalist values.
In normal times, Trumpism -- again, the agenda as opposed to Trump the person -- might be old hat. But after the last eight years, his correction has enraged millions.
Yet securing national borders seems pretty orthodox. In an age of anti-Western terrorism, placing temporary holds on would-be immigrants from war-torn zones until they can be vetted is hardly radical. Expecting "sanctuary cities" to follow federal laws rather than embrace the nullification strategies of the secessionist Old Confederacy is a return to the laws of the Constitution.
Using the term "radical Islamic terror" in place of "workplace violence" or "man-caused disasters" is sensible, not subversive.
Insisting that NATO members meet their long-ignored defense-spending obligations is not provocative but overdue. Assuming that both the European Union and the United Nations are imploding is empirical, not unhinged.
Questioning the secret side agreements of the Iran deal or failed Russian reset is facing reality. Making the Environmental Protection Agency follow laws rather than make laws is the way it always was supposed to be.

Do most European nations permit abortion even after a baby is delivered?
Do most European nations force businesses to allow men in male attire to enter women’s restrooms, locker rooms, and changing rooms?
Do most European nations require photographers to attend same sex wedding ceremonies?
Do most European nations permit anti-police riot mobs to stage civil unrest events up to an including the assassination of said police officers?
What is so extreme about reigning these acts in?
I always like to read VDH. He’s so down-to-earth.
God has given us a reprieve, but it is temporary. We have to make the most of the time we have. We have stepped 5 feet back from the brink, and we now have to decide what we do from here. If nothing else changes, it will have been for nothing.
We have to change directions, and change how we educate our kids. You can’t let your ideological enemies train your kids, and inform them, and entertain them, and expect any good outcome. This fight isn’t just political, it is cultural, moral, spiritual. Deeply spiritual.
One thing we know. When the demons are raging we are doing something right.
The Left’s been riding the Merry-Go-Round to power, easily shoving aside everyone in their way. Just as they finally had the Brass Ring of total control within their grasp, Trump came out of nowhere and yanked it away from them. A violent temper tantrum is a natural reaction for them.
It’s like Rush said yesterday, these SJWs and other snowflake based “revolutionaries” are going to begin running out of steam. Oh, they’ll still be there, but the “rage” will be dissipating. Even these nuts can’t maintain rage 24/7.
We are witnessing the initial convulsions of a troubled, sick body attempting to reject the injection of the cure of law and order. Watch the rioters, the celebrities and politicians urging them on. Look at the words of their mouths and the manner of their behavior. Consider their methods and loyalties and you will see where they are coming from and where they want to take us. A protest does not involve violence and property damage. These revolutionaries are not protesting Donald Trump, they are defying the American people and American law. This is criminal and can not be allowed to slip by unaddressed.
I so hope you and he are right about that.
Trump did not yank away their power. WE did, God willing, we will finish the job.
I thought about that. That’s why their angry outbursts against him are really an expression of venomous hatred towards us.

Most can't. However I would not be surprised if we see some violent offshoots. Personally I expect to see 2-3 modern day versions of the Weather Underground or the Symbionese Liberation Army.
Not a significant threat to the body politic, but they will kill some law enforcement and/or innocent civilians in the name of "Revolution."
Trump seems a revolutionary, but that is only because he is loudly undoing a revolution.
