CANNON BALL, N.D. - A coordinated law enforcement effort evacuated another Dakota Access Pipeline protest camp that was beginning to take root outside of the main protest camp.
Humvees and front end loaders pushed protesters back and converged on the camp from the east and west.
The new camp was an attempt by a group of activists to establish a peaceful and prayerful protest.
Law enforcement moved in around 2 p.m. and protesters said they were ready to stand their ground.
"If they do come over and they do arrest us and they do, you know, get aggressive, we'll stand our ground and be not aggressive," says Rance Sneed, protester.
"It's unfortunate that they decided to trespass on there and really forcing law enforcement in this situation to really having to move in to this area and clear them from the hill," says Tom Iverson, North Dakota Highway Patrol.
Law enforcement says they have arrested at least 76 protesters, including former congressional candidate Chase Iron Eyes.
