Senate Republicans pushed through a pair of President Trumps Cabinet nominees Wednesday, upending standard committee rules to circumvent a Democratic boycott.
The Senate Finance Committee advanced a pair of Trumps nominees with only Republican members present Steven Mnuchin to head the Treasury Department, and Rep. Tom Price (R-Ga.) as secretary of Health and Human Services.

Steady there....
“Spin Control” in force.
Changing the rules may need for clarification.
Don’t show up, don’t get to vote. Sounds fair to me.
They are just using the tool given to the Senate by Reid, a democrat.
Do you have a problem with that?
Glad to see Orrin Hatch grow a pair. Can he pass it along to others, especially Mitch...Give it to those damn democrats!
Meanwhile, Al Franken is exploding in insults of both Jeff Sessions and Ted Cruz, stalling the committee vote. The dems are over the top, creating a situation where they have nowhere good to bring this outrage they’re creating.
What the hell?! How long have I been asleep for? I thought it would take decades for the GOP to grow spines and balls again.
Shockingly, they did it overnight!
It's not like the GOP held a secret midnight vote. Nor did they take the other path of having the sergeant at arms round up the missing committe members.
The Dems thought it was so cute when they hopped on bus over the state line in Wisconsin to hold things up that they thought they'd try it here.
You don’t need the committee’s approval, so what difference does it make for them to vote? Push it through to the floor, where it counts.
This assumes of course, that we have the votes.
Do you have a problem with that?
I’m tickled to death about it. Why would you assume otherwise since I posted this news?
Dont show up, dont get to vote. Sounds fair to me.
But... let’s see how long the current situation will hold.
I suggested yesterday, the no-shows ought to have their pay docked.
The EVIL RATS have been emboldened by the protesters paid by Satan Soros...if those protests would not have taken place I bet you the republicans would have grown a pair!! SCREW THE PROTESTERS AND THE RATS!!! DO YOUR JOB THATS WHY WE ELECTED YOU!!!! UGH!!!! If you have to go nuclear... detonate the whole damn building IF you must!!!
Frankenstein that’s who he is. Someone needs to take him behind the wood shed and whip his fat ugly A$$!
It appears Yertle grew at least one testicle.
As one who routinely says terrible things about the Senate and those in it I would like to say - Bravo - Well Done Senators!
Good. Leave them behind.
Bravo - Well Done Senators!
For God’s sake, wake up: this direction came from McConnell. Hatch and the committee members didn’t act unilaterally without support and direction from above.
