A CNN producer, editor and Iraqi national who was detained at an Atlanta airport on Sunday has filed a federal lawsuit to challenge President Trump's immigration order, according to The Atlanta Journal Constitution.
Mohammed Tawfeeq, the CNN producer, has been a permanent legal resident of the U.S. since 2013.
Tawfeeqs CNN duties include frequently traveling to the Middle East, according to the lawsuit filed Tuesday.
Tawfeeq was detained Sunday at Atlantas Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport for additional screening, delaying his entry into the United States.

What are the rules on permanent residents, anyone know? Any way to send this guy home?
I’ll see your tag line, and raise you a tag line.
HAHAHA! Good one! I confess that after reading a Scott Adams blog, I really like his word for them and am trying to start a meme: #hivemind.
That is how I see the MSM now. Just the single minded hive mentality without any individual thought.
Does this person have a green card? The article doesn’t say if he has a green card, just that he’s a permanent resident. Can a noncitizen, permanent resident work w/out a green card? Even if he has a green card, I knew several Indian nationals in the 90s that had green cards (I worked with them) and they couldn’t leave the country because there was no guarantee they could get back in.
I really don’t see a problem here.
I’d like to know how long he was delayed?
It used to be, but, a lot’s happened in the last eight years, so, who knows?
I have reached the point that I no longer care how many of their throats the muslims cut. AS long as one of them is not mine. And I will do everything in my power to prevent that from happening.
I’ve been delayed due to additional customs screening several times. I’m sure many Freepers have as well.
Tawfeeq ebonics for Dumbazz!
He is suing for having to go though “additional screening”
?
Good luck with that...
Case law on this is very clear.
Until you clear immigration you are NOT technically in the United States, and they can pretty much do as they want with you.
Even if you are a citizen.
Well there you go three whole years, and he is so grateful he decides to sue. Rescind his citizenship and return him back to Iraq.
This means nothing. I bet CNN got a waiver from the Obama administration to hire him. That can be revoked by the Trump administration. CNN should be hiring Americans to work in America anyway, let this guy work for CNN in the Middle East.
No wonder CNN lies.
Socialism & radical Islam kills!
Skype, email, and twitter continue to be available.
.
Are his documents for residency in order?
I am a naturalized US Citizen.
Over the past two years, I have had to re-enter the US at LAX and ATL airports. In LA, I have had to scan finger print and they always take a photo using the new electronic passport control.
Screw the Snowflakes!!
I hope Trump countersues.
Naturalized US Citizens are a very valuable contribution to the United States. It is unbelievable how hard it is to become a legal citizen here.
Thank you for coming and running the democrat gauntlet.
I truly believe the only way to fix illegal immigration in the long term is to fix the legal immigration system.
